But you do agree that Trump most likely will win in 2020. ERGO – I am not as full of fecal matter as you stated so eloquently in Item 8.

2018-07-19 11:19:00 John Massoud

Didn’t know I was being funny here – however I’m glad you had a good laugh.

2018-07-19 11:17:00 John Massoud

Now that’s good comedy

2018-07-18 23:21:00 John Massoud

A guy who is in the hip pocket of the insurance lobby and was the deciding vote in favor of disallowing people from purchasing insurance across state lines is honest? Face/palm.

2018-07-18 13:32:00 John Massoud

I object. To SBT calling himself a conservative after endorsing Frank Wagner for Governor in 2017.

2018-07-18 08:34:00 John Massoud

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/op-eds/mikheil-saakashvili-trump-is-right-that-germany-is-too-cozy-with-russia

2018-07-16 18:54:00 John Massoud

And it is very annoying to watch SBT contribute to the ignorance of reality. The facts are as follows:

1) The US has been paying for Germany, France, etc to have generous welfare benefits and socialized medicine for years. This has to stop.
2) Yes trade between rival powers is a good thing, and in theory it prevents wars. However Russia is a notoriously bad actor on the world stage and is taking German money to fund a war against Ukraine, a country which we signed an alliance treaty with over 10 years ago. Best way to stop Russian intrusion into Ukraine is to cut off money to Moscow. Best way to do this is for Germany to stop trading with Moscow. Germany is literally funding Moscow’s war against Kiev and the innocent Ukrainian people.
3) Why should US taxpayers fund Germany’s social welfare program?

SBT – didn’t think it was possible but you reached a new low with this one.

2018-07-13 16:10:00 John Massoud

Well done Corey

2018-07-12 18:18:00 John Massoud

AKA even a broken clock is right 2x a day?

2018-07-11 10:33:00 John Massoud

Used to be that atheists and Christians could easily coexist. Now not so much

2018-07-11 01:17:00 John Massoud

Odds are Collins and Murkowski will both vote to confirm. There’s no upside to voting against Kavanaugh and a major downside to opposition. Aka a primary challenge

2018-07-11 01:13:00 John Massoud

Wow Nixonante – the Gestapo or KGB would have loved you.

2018-07-10 12:07:00 John Massoud

In this case my dear Nixonante, there may be no crime, other than people potentially filing false complaints to alter the outcome of an election. We don’t know what occurred and did not occur, other than what are told from both sides.

2018-07-10 09:56:00 John Massoud

Hate to admit it, but every once in awhile SBT nails it

2018-07-10 08:50:00 John Massoud

But Nixonante is our hero. After all he believes that everyone who has ever been accused of something must be guilty, facts be da00ed

2018-07-09 21:08:00 John Massoud

Nixonante. What say you

2018-07-09 20:16:00 John Massoud

We have a presumption of innocence in this country. However far too many “Republicans” are naturally assuming these people are guilty. Including you my dear Rocinante. So since you seem so perfectly ok with people using the Feds to influence an election (which was something Nixon tried to do with the IRS, and was part of Article 2 of his impeachment) I guess we’ll just have to call you Nixonante from now on.

2018-07-09 18:34:00 John Massoud

The writer is onto something with reason 4.

2018-07-09 17:52:00 John Massoud

Glad to hear you support use of the Feds against a political opponent. Richard Nixon would approve. So would Barack Obama

2018-07-07 11:35:00 John Massoud

Background information is all over the place.

2018-07-07 10:48:00 John Massoud

Thanks for the laugh.

2018-07-07 10:47:00 John Massoud

There are a lot of great choices here. Chuck would be one of them

2018-07-04 21:29:00 John Massoud

Great choice

2018-07-04 20:38:00 John Massoud

Part deux – I will agree that the grassroots are really sick and tired of lying dogs who campaign on one thing and then vote another way.

2018-07-03 13:50:00 John Massoud

Nick Freitas supporters are different from EW supporters who are different from Corey supporters. Each hangs in a slightly different crowd. EW supporters are more likely to emphasize social issues (aka gay marriage or abortion), where Nick supporters are more likely to have a slightly libertarian slant, and Corey supporters are a bit more likely to talk about history/heritage. I tend to side more with EW on issues than any of the other 2 candidates. However I did not think that EW ran a very good race in 2013, and given that Corey and I are personal friends, I supported him this time. Nick being my 2nd choice.

2018-07-03 13:47:00 John Massoud

He’d be a fascinating choice

2018-07-02 21:00:00 John Massoud

Uh, I could see me in the dunk tank at the Shenandoah County Fair in August. I can see quite a few people of old Shenandoah County lining up to pay big bucks to dunk me.

2018-07-02 17:13:00 John Massoud

As I said before – My dear Rocinante, you are a peach.

2018-07-02 16:15:00 John Massoud

I believe he paid a filing fee of $5,000.00

2018-07-02 15:16:00 John Massoud

I gathered that part (my sticking up for my conservative elitist co-owner) but the question remains – HUH?

2018-07-02 15:08:00 John Massoud

Well said!!!!

2018-07-02 15:07:00 John Massoud

Mr. Justo is not anyone who I consider to be any serious entity in GOP politics in either the 6th District or Harrisonburg or the Commonwealth. I hope he votes our way in November. Given that his record shows he had not voted in a GOP primary in the past 10 years, how does one take him seriously as a Republican. If he votes our way in November, that’s all one will get out of Mr. Justo.

2018-07-02 15:07:00 John Massoud

Big Ed as in Ed Justo? I have no thoughts of the guy one way or another. Other than at the Shenandoah County GOP Convention he walked up towards me, I pointed him and motioned for him to back off. He seems to think that means I threatened to murder him. Mr. Justo and I just have a different version of reality.

2018-07-02 14:36:00 John Massoud

Oh Rocinante you are a peach. Who is Big Ed?

2018-07-02 13:54:00 John Massoud

Huh?

2018-07-02 13:53:00 John Massoud

Rocinante . Pinko aka Jim Delta?

2018-07-02 08:02:00 John Massoud

I believe you proved this by stating you’re voting against Brat for a liberal democrat and didn’t like Cantor either.

Glad you enjoy my articles

2018-07-02 00:13:00 John Massoud

And you sir are a communist

2018-07-01 23:25:00 John Massoud

Congress needs more like Dave Brat

2018-07-01 23:25:00 John Massoud

Calling Jeanine an elitist is plain nuts. Jeanine and yours truly disagree on Corey Stewart here but she’s not an elitist snob. Jeanine is as in touch with the grassroots as they come

2018-07-01 21:44:00 John Massoud

Bad news for you who are obsessed with Cynthia Dunbar. She will not run for RPV Chair. Sorry to ruin your night

2018-07-01 02:48:00 John Massoud

Rocinante the Great strikes again

2018-07-01 02:04:00 John Massoud

Mike Lee would be an excellent choice

2018-06-25 18:30:00 John Massoud

If you actually read that to mean “unswerving support” of DJT – then you are sadly mistaken. And if you note correctly, I said on at least 2 occasions that I have issues with DJT’s leading us into a possible trade war, but that we are not there yet.

2018-06-25 16:25:00 John Massoud

Not I.

2018-06-24 16:14:00 John Massoud

Lexington trends Democratic but Rockbridge is very Republican. They’ll get a few more customers short term and then be in serious trouble within a few weeks

2018-06-24 01:46:00 John Massoud

John McCain’s legacy will to have been one of the biggest frauds to have been voted into any high office in the last 100 years

2018-06-22 23:43:00 John Massoud

You are too kind thank you

2018-06-22 23:40:00 John Massoud

If you actually believe what you said – then you are truly the stupidest person and the most intellectually dishonest person alive.

2018-06-22 11:34:00 John Massoud

If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor. Health insurance will go down by $2500 per year per family. Thanks to your president, I and many of my employees lost their health insurance not once but twice. Thanks to your lying president – Barack Hussain Obama.

2018-06-22 09:47:00 John Massoud

Thanks you are too kind

2018-06-22 01:26:00 John Massoud

Again I share your opinions on protectionism. But we aren’t anywhere near that point . But to suggest he gets an F on the Constitution is ludicrous .

And please don’t tell anyone that RPV is in the hip pocket of Corey Stewart. That’s crazy.

2018-06-21 21:06:00 John Massoud

Excellent point. I forgot about judges.

2018-06-21 18:53:00 John Massoud

Not in this case – too long to explain – I don’t have the time or the will to explain – the short answer is that the Credentials Committee was not allowed to do their job. And quite a few people who had not registered to be delegates or certain persons who had been banned from party activities voted who should not have been allowed to vote.

2018-06-21 16:08:00 John Massoud

To make a VERY long story VERY short – there was a problem with the filing form of the Rockbridge County GOP delegation. No big issue, the 6th District Secretary sent the form back, asked the Rockbridge GOP Chair and Committee to fix the issue, and the delegation would be certified. Well someone (no names mentioned) decided that meant that the Rockbridge GOP was going to be banned from the convention. Whitbeck got involved and decided he would determine who was allowed to be seated and who would not be. Basically putting his thumb on the scale.

2018-06-21 15:34:00 John Massoud

The reference was more to the lead up to the 6th District Convention – where the rhetoric was getting extremely hostile – most everything went well at the convention – not alot of drama.

2018-06-21 15:23:00 John Massoud

If you had been involved in the 6th District Convention, you’d know why we need new leadership at the top of RPV

2018-06-21 09:52:00 John Massoud

Valid points.

2018-06-18 19:30:00 John Massoud

Shocking – a liberal calling a Republican a racist. Shocking I tell you

2018-06-18 10:49:00 John Massoud

Well said

2018-06-16 09:33:00 John Massoud

He’s going to be a great Congressman

2018-06-15 14:41:00 John Massoud

He’ll be our governor one day. Ugh

2018-06-15 09:36:00 John Massoud

SBT – sometimes you really make sense. This is one of these times. I would suggest that there isn’t alot of difference between EW, Corey, and Freitas on most issues. Most of it is a matter of style or resume. Yes Nick is a bit more libertarian, EW emphasizes social issues, and Corey is best known for wrapping hisself in the Confederate Flag. I voted for Corey on Tuesday and am looking forward to getting him over the top in November. It’s going to be a rough road – but having Nick or EW as the nominee wouldn’t have made things any easier. The RPV needs serious structural reforms – all the way from the top down to the Unit and Precinct levels. And until local chairs and their committees and RPV are serious about getting Republican candidates elected to office, there isn’t much that any candidate can do.

2018-06-14 12:58:00 John Massoud

This is why God gave us the mute feature

2018-06-13 19:03:00 John Massoud

Supporting Corey Stewart here.

2018-06-11 16:54:00 John Massoud

Then you are definitely glad to not have joined the FB group – 6th Va District Discussion.

2018-06-08 14:49:00 John Massoud

Rocinante, now if Agnew hadn’t been convicted of tax evasion in that Md kickback scheme, they never would have impeached Nixon. The Democrats worst nightmare would have been a President Agnew.

2018-06-08 14:43:00 John Massoud

Great post – but one minor correction if you don’t mind. Nixon would 100% have been convicted and removed from office. His staunchest defender – Charlie Wiggins of California – after having listened to the “smoking gun” audiotape, publicly stated that “The great career of Richard Nixon must be involuntarily terminated”. The Republican leaders of the House and Senate in 1974 went to Nixon to tell him to resign for a reason. He had only 4 or 5 firm votes to not convict left in the Senate. He would have been thrown out of office.

2018-06-08 10:32:00 John Massoud

Agreed. I’m somewhat tough on SBT but this was outstanding

2018-06-05 21:41:00 John Massoud

Rocinante Rocinante Rocinante – you’re disappointing moi.

2018-06-05 14:32:00 John Massoud

No guts no glory. OK then – how’s about – Rocinante for RPV SCC Chair?

2018-06-05 14:12:00 John Massoud

Rocinante the Great – can’t we just put you in charge of RPV and make everything all better? Since you can so very easily get to the heart of a situation and figure out what is wrong – at the very least you’d not make matters worse. Rocinante for RPV Chair I say!!!!

2018-06-05 13:47:00 John Massoud

Problem is that too many politicians have forgotten this stance or blatantly lied about what they would do once in office.

2018-06-05 07:45:00 John Massoud

Sadly you will hear about #nevercorey through November – assuming he wins the primary. Which most serious people expect him to win on June 12. There is no serious #nevercline movement in CD 6, and not much of a #neverdenver in CD 5 – however the new group “Alcoholics who are offended by Whiskey Rebellions” may play a major part. @@.

2018-06-04 13:03:00 John Massoud

Oh it was hysterical beyond words. Didn’t matter that I have nothing to do with publication of TBE – Mr. Justo said it, ergo it must be true. I held my nose and voted for McCain. Personally I loved Romney, even if he wasn’t a perfect candidate. But changes were needed, the base supported Trump, and it would be hypocritical of me to say that others needed to hold their nose and vote for my guy, and then me not do the same. I’m so sick of people expecting everything to go their way that it’s nauseating.

And my dear Rocinante – you should never apologize for laughing at my being the controlling interest/owner of TBE – it was one of those days in social media which shall live in infamy. We’re still joking about it on social media as much as when it was 1st suggested.

2018-06-04 12:58:00 John Massoud

Maybe you didn’t get the point of the post. You my dear sir have led the way in bashing others – mostly those who are patriots. It is rather hypocritical of you to lead the way in bashing people and then suggest that others (most of whom you disagree with) don’t bash back. You started this, and escalated it and extended the negativity.

Me – I will go on to knocking on doors for soon to be Congressman Ben Cline in Shenandoah County. But your selective memory is quite shocking – when it comes to bashing of patriots.

2018-06-04 10:23:00 John Massoud

I don’t see alot of Democrats switching parties for today. They have their own nomination to worry about. Maybe a few here or there – but not enough to make a material difference.

2018-06-04 10:17:00 John Massoud

I joined the Tea Party in 2009 to help the GOP rediscover its roots, not to kill the party.

2018-06-04 08:05:00 John Massoud

Ahhh my dear Rocinante, you obviously went to the Ed Justo school of how to win friends and influence people.

Doesn’t help or improve the situation by taking my marbles and leaving. Doesn’t make me feel good doing so.

2018-06-04 08:02:00 John Massoud

Can we assume this is good news for Shak?

2018-06-04 07:24:00 John Massoud

Question for you my dear Rocinante. Since I’m the Vice chairman of the County GOP and the Chairman of the Strasburg GOP x are you saying I shouldn’t be writing for TBE?

2018-06-04 00:56:00 John Massoud

Was actually thinking about Patty Hearst earlier today. What a crock of justice that was. I was maybe 9 when she was kidnapped and 10 or 11 when she was captured. Even I got that she didn’t deserve being tried. It was stupid

2018-06-04 00:05:00 John Massoud

And if you can continue to not mention her or her supporters it would be greatly appreciated.

2018-06-03 21:40:00 John Massoud

My dear sir. You might want to check your podcast as you stated that Sayre and Dunbar supporters were recruited from Waffle Houses. You also posted on social media on May 19 these words. Crime doesn’t pay. We can parse words all you want, but the meaning is clear

We in CD6 need to come together and elect Ben Cline to Congress. With that in mind, it would be helpful if you and your friends in CD6 would quit talking about Dunbar. For us to win we’re going to need every Republican vote. And each time you or others trash Cynthia Dunbar or her supporters it makes our job more difficult.

Thanks.

2018-06-03 20:38:00 John Massoud

You’ll appreciate my next piece in TBE. Should be up sometime this weekend

2018-06-03 01:16:00 John Massoud

Great choice by the 5th District nominating committee. But whether one supported Riggleman or Dunbar or Boneta or Stanley, we can all agree on one thing.

John Fredericks should not be allowed to predict election results in Virginia ever again.

2018-06-03 00:37:00 John Massoud

Well said my dear Rocinante

2018-06-01 16:43:00 John Massoud

My dear Rocinante – if you read the article – it never says they have left Virginia. It does say that they are considering moving all their operations to Pa. And that they do not want to leave Va, but that the regulations in Va are too stringent. Personally I see nothing wrong with that article.

2018-06-01 10:14:00 John Massoud

Riggleman has never left his distillery. Now it’s possible he opened another one up in Pennsylvania. But he has not moved from Va. And quite often did fundraisers in 2017 for other candidates from his distillery.

2018-05-31 17:05:00 John Massoud

Rocinante for President

2018-05-30 22:40:00 John Massoud

To my dear Rocinante:

Dunbar would be a horrible nominee for the 5th, after just losing in another (albeit adjoining) district. If you’re asking why didn’t Riggleman run in the 6th District, it’s very difficult to run and win a nomination in a District where you don’t live. Even if it is technically legal.

Amen on Mr. Whitbeck.

As is per usual, your wit surpasses us all.

2018-05-30 16:45:00 John Massoud

Rocinante the Magnificent.

I must digress. Anyone can be painted as a “whack” – but that does not make them a whack. Someone can call you or I a “whack” but that does not necessarily make it so.

Riggleman did not move to PA – he went back to Nelson/Giles County Va to work in his distillery. Now he may have taken a trip to PA – but for the most part he was at work in his distillery. He dropped out because he figured out (correctly mind you) that he could not raise money as Ed had raised millions, and Corey and Frank Wagner both had the ability to transfer money from previous campaign accounts to a Governor account. He did the right thing. Yes some fringe lunatics (true whack jobs) do like Riggleman – but so do quite a few normal persons.

Dunbar is not a whack. You can disagree with her, but she’s no whack. Matt Colt Hall or John Fredericks labeling someone as a whack does not make it so.

I have no idea if the 5th loves Whitbeck or not. But I can assure you, after putting multiple monkey wrenches in our 6th CD nomination process, he won hisself no fans here.

2018-05-30 15:21:00 John Massoud

My dear Rocinante – 1st off, I always do well.

2nd – Riggleman is not a whack job. Nor was Cynthia Dunbar or Elliot Pope or Mike Desjadon or Chaz Haywood or Doug Wright or Kathryn Lewis (most of the rest of the CD 6 field with one notable exception who was a whack job).

3rd – selecting John Whitbeck would not make too many people happy. It would however offend quite a few.

2018-05-30 14:37:00 John Massoud

Agreed re Boneta – Riggleman is a more serious person – hope they give him the nomination.

2018-05-30 09:49:00 John Massoud

Being sober for over 24 years, all I can say is Go with God Congressman and it’s one day at a time

2018-05-29 00:13:00 John Massoud

What Rocinante the Great said

2018-05-28 20:22:00 John Massoud

If you actually think that Barack Obama should not be allowed to block trolls from his personal Twitter account than you are sick. Barack Obama should be allowed to regulate who can or can not see his personal social media sites.

2018-05-27 21:39:00 John Massoud

Wow

2018-05-23 23:38:00 John Massoud

Honestly no one knew who was going to win. A week out I might have told you that Dunbar could have won.

2018-05-21 17:23:00 John Massoud

Oh my dear Rocinante, I hate it when you make sense like that.

2018-05-21 17:03:00 John Massoud

Well – that’s what happened and that’s what will occur. Alot of good people are going to be sorry one day soon.

2018-05-21 16:41:00 John Massoud

I was 100% certain that Kurtz would win – and was hoping that Sayre would win. Figured Cline would win – but not on the 1st ballot.

2018-05-21 16:35:00 John Massoud

He didn’t just fight the Incumbent Protection Act – we in CD 6 killed the IPA. And now we’re all afraid that the new administration will let the lawsuit/appeal expire and the IPA will remain.

2018-05-21 16:30:00 John Massoud

There was some major league drama on social media and my email inbox was beyond surreal. However with very few exceptions, the convention was drama free. Now a couple people did act like major league jerkoffs – but they were the exception rather than the rule. They’re still doing this on social media.

Justo never had a chance and if the convention had gone into the 2nd round of balloting, he would have been one of the first cut. Regarding Sayre, he wished Jennifer Brown well, and has gone onto better things. Sayre served his party well, and is owed a debt of gratitude that many do not really understand and will not understand for years to come.

2018-05-21 15:34:00 John Massoud

Sorry but the convention was drama free. Everything went off without a hitch. There has been some drama from a few FB warriors afterwards – but everyone will get over their hurt feelings in due time. Some of the supporters of the winning side would be better served by keeping their big mouths shut however.

2018-05-21 10:35:00 John Massoud

With Ben Cline as the nominee – the odds of Ms. Moore winning are slim to none. If the nominee had been Cynthia Dunbar, I still think she would have won, but the margin would have been a bit more narrow. Of the 8 candidates who filed, 7 of them would likely have beaten Ms. Moore.

2018-05-21 10:34:00 John Massoud

The vote was “weighted”. But pretty much everyone who was there could see that Cline had the overwhelming majority of the delegates.

2018-05-21 10:27:00 John Massoud

The convention went off without a hitch, and a winner was decided on the 1st ballot. The 2nd place finisher (Dunbar) endorsed the winner (Ben Cline). All was well and will be well in the Valley.

2018-05-21 10:24:00 John Massoud

Stupid question. Where does the Constitution say that a president can’t be prosecuted for crimes committed while in office

2018-05-20 13:26:00 John Massoud

Was a great convention. And while I’m sorry that Scott Sayre and Kurtz lost, I’m happy for Ben Cline and know that we will kick some butt come November

2018-05-19 22:18:00 John Massoud

Yes secret ballot

2018-05-19 00:24:00 John Massoud

It’s going to be by majority vote. I’m not sure if the votes will be weighted

2018-05-19 00:23:00 John Massoud

I will grant you that Ms. Moore is a top notch nominee. You are also correct in saying that Democrats are more motivated to vote than are Republicans. But this is still very much a hard R district. Now, if certain whiners in the GOP get butt hurt because their candidate of choice does not win – and they sit the election out, then all bets are off. But there’s a 99% chance the GOP nominee will be the winner in November. Unless certain persons talk themselves out of voting.

2018-05-18 15:54:00 John Massoud

Wish you were still the Central Region Vice Chair – the current Chair of the Central Region thinks the best way to bring people into the cause is to insult them.

2018-05-18 13:09:00 John Massoud

Don’t you have a convention to try and rig and a group of Christians to trash

2018-05-16 08:53:00 John Massoud

Dianne Wyss is a great American and patriot. Not to mention a good friend. For people like Craig Storrs and other cyber bullies to call her sexist is disgusting.

2018-05-15 08:08:00 John Massoud

I have too many trolls blocked on here – so I must have missed something good huh?

2018-05-11 15:04:00 John Massoud

Well said Mr. Pope. If Mr. Pope is the model of our young generation, the future of this country is bright indeed!!!

2018-05-11 12:45:00 John Massoud

Not only that, I “didn’t” as well!

2018-05-10 14:02:00 John Massoud

You’re not supporting Shak? Why did I think you’d be a Shak Hill kinda guy?

2018-05-10 13:19:00 John Massoud

Ahhh I see that you have been talking to Mr. Justo! Let me guess, if you lived in CD 6, you’d be supporting Eduardo.

2018-05-09 17:55:00 John Massoud

Which is why you are our hero. Obviously I need to get a better hero huh?

2018-05-09 17:35:00 John Massoud

It got really stupid between Team Gillespie and Team Corey last year. But there you kinda knew where everyone’s loyalties lay. I’d keep telling members of Team Gillespie to lay off Corey supporters, but they’d not do so. Which is really stupid – you want people who will work. Not that some of the Stewart supporters were any better – but you get the idea.

2018-05-09 12:26:00 John Massoud

Mick. I get your point. But here’s the weird part. These online tough guys are getting so weird now, they’re going after their own people. Can’t tell you how many people supporting a certain candidate are sick of the name calling from other supporters of their same candidate. Mr. Storrs has been a major instigator here – and so have his online buddies. I can name you multiple Ben Cline supporters that Mr. Storrs has trashed online. And I believe that Mr. Storrs is supporting Ben Cline as well. The Cline people are going to need to sit on Mr. Storrs or else. And Mr. Storrs is not the only one. And it’s not just the Cline supporters. I can name you people from other campaigns as well who are acting like childish you know what’s. I just named Storrs because he and a couple of his buddies thought it would be acceptable to mess with me.

2018-05-09 12:24:00 John Massoud

You are the witty one my dear Rocinante

2018-05-06 23:34:00 John Massoud

My dear Rocinante. Here is the email used.

2018-05-06 13:34:00 John Massoud

Good question. I’ll check the email out and get back to you

2018-05-06 13:32:00 John Massoud

The only way we lose CD6 is if we nominate a criminal deviant.

2018-05-05 23:36:00 John Massoud

Again for the record, at the Shenandoah County GOP convention, you walked towards me in an aggressive manner and I pointed to you and told you to “watch yourself ” and then pointed behind you as if to say keep out of my space.

If you think that means something else…..

2018-05-05 22:48:00 John Massoud

The email was sent by someone pretending to be Matt Tederick.

2018-05-05 22:46:00 John Massoud

Ms. Lewis’ name was specifically left off this list for multiple reasons. Among them questions about whether or not she lives inside the 6th District. I watched her perform very well at the first debate in Augusta County. Then quite frankly she didn’t do as well at the Front Royal forum. She has missed multiple events and not sent a surrogate. Those and several other reasons are why she was left off this list.

2018-05-05 22:45:00 John Massoud

Well said

2018-05-04 22:56:00 John Massoud

Thanks for saying this. Like you I’m a fan of both Ben Cline and Cynthia Dunbar and Elliot Pope. Can’t people just want a clean process without being labeled a Dunbar clone?

2018-05-03 21:16:00 John Massoud

Sounds about right

2018-04-30 08:10:00 John Massoud

Reagan hi – I owe you something – sorry been a bit busy, give me another day or 2, and we’ll talk ok?

2018-04-17 09:59:00 John Massoud

Sounds like great things are going to happen in Fauquier – similar to what is occurring in Shenandoah County.

2018-04-16 18:23:00 John Massoud

This isn’t the ending – it’s the beginning. We have a ways to go, and many things have been done in the past and present which need to be addressed. But for now, we are on the ways to a good future.

2018-04-16 16:11:00 John Massoud

I would have written it quite differently, but the author makes quite a few good points.

2018-04-16 14:27:00 John Massoud

Thanks. But I prefer to think of us as a team. Yes I was the face of the movement for a period of time. But many were involved.

Suzanne Curran was instrumental in keeping the fight going for years. Sadly she passed away before she realized her lifes dream, seeing constitutional conservatives leading the County GOP.

Dozens of others helped out as well. Too bad they all can’t be listed here.

2018-04-16 01:25:00 John Massoud

Thanks but you mean Congrats to Team Randy, and Team Shenandoah County

2018-04-14 23:42:00 John Massoud

Is anyone really shocked

2018-04-11 12:08:00 John Massoud

Delegate Cline has been a real hero on this subject, he’s trying to protect the good people of Virginia, and our Governor stabs the people of Virginia in the back.

2018-04-10 11:35:00 John Massoud

Would have loved to have met you as well. Saw a few of my friends there from Shenandoah County/Strasburg and kinda hung with them. Walked around a bit looking for Jeanine Martin, Jay Marts, and a few others. Did get to see Suzanne Volpe, Roger Zurn, and that hillbilly Geary Higgins.

For personal reasons I had to leave earlier than planned.

At the end of the day, who you vote for is who you vote for. My thought is to vote for the best person, including those who can inspire people to come out and vote. We keep trying to be strategic and we keep losing. I was a never Trumper until he got the nomination, but then learned why he became the nominee. So many just loved him. Personally I thought he’d be a horrible nominee, and that he stood the best chance to lose in November, but again what do I know. I’m glad to be wrong.

The real issue with Republicans in Virginia is RPV and the local committees themselves. Take Vermont for example. HRC wins in November 2016 by 30 points, but a Republican nominee wins the governor’s race that day – by 8-9 points. So it’s not the state itself. RPV is doing something horribly wrong, and a large part of that is the data is not getting to the local committees because RPV and the establishment want the data to remain in their hands only. Aka local committee’s are dependent on RPV instead of themselves. It hampers us.

And until RPV accepts these facts and others and reforms itself from within, we won’t win another election statewide.

2018-04-09 13:40:00 John Massoud

Extremely crowded. Spent most of my time there with the Shenandoah county delegation. Did get to say hi to Zurn and Geary Higgins and Suzanne Volpe

2018-04-08 06:13:00 John Massoud

Shocking as it seemed like Corey Stewart would win going away. But what do I know

2018-04-08 06:11:00 John Massoud

I was there. Jeanine sorry to have missed you. Thought Corey would win. Shocked he didn’t

2018-04-08 04:47:00 John Massoud

Sorry to hear that. The 10th District screwed up big time. They keep supporting moderates against conservatives. If moderates don’t like the nominee it’s ok for the moderate to try and screw the conservative.

But when the conservatives get fed up, NOOOO that’s not allowed.

2018-04-04 21:14:00 John Massoud

Rocinante Rocinante Rocinante. Rocinante Rocinante Rocinante. Rocinante Rocinante Rocinante. We all know you’re supporting Corey Stewart, which is fine. But please don’t use the words Tea party and establishment together.

2018-04-02 15:26:00 John Massoud

Oh my dear Rocinante, you are the witty one. Well when Ted Cruz gets labeled as an establishment hack during the 2016 primary season – the word kinda loses its meaning. However one feels about Cruz one way or another – he took on the power bosses on K Street. So I got kinda sick of the E word right about that time.

Calling Nick Freitas a member of the establishment who will raise our taxes is another NOT SO BRIGHT idea as well. Now if you don’t wanna vote for Nick and prefer E. W. or Corey Stewart, fine by me. But calling anyone and everyone who you’re not supporting a member of the establishment is getting silly.

2018-04-02 15:12:00 John Massoud

If there are any establishment hacks writing for TBE – they are few and far between. Sadly the term “establishment” used to mean something aka a moderate or suburban Republican. But now all it means is someone who is opposing your favored candidate.

Yes we all have our own agenda. As do you my dear Rocinante. Which is fine. I have mine as well.

2018-04-02 14:41:00 John Massoud

Calling The Bull Elephant establishment is the nuttiest thing I’ve heard or read in weeks. TBE is not a news source for establishment hacks. Now you can disagree with the editors and writers. But none of us are establishment hacks.

Fine man but the party needs new blood

2018-03-27 20:34:00 John Massoud

Loudoun Democrats only care about paybacks to their developer friends and getting campaign contributions to get elected.

2018-03-22 10:41:00 John Massoud

Let’s hope so. But the entire Fairfax GOP needs to be rebuilt

Sadly Steven – you are the most guilty of this offense (Republicans being bothered by other Republicans as much as they are by Democrats), and if there’s any doubt of it, just check your FB postings and articles on here. You sir spend way too much time trashing everyone.

2018-03-21 11:34:00 John Massoud

Fascinating story. Well done Joe

2018-03-21 11:32:00 John Massoud

Well said. We have to first admit that RPV is a clown car of drama queens

2018-03-21 08:18:00 John Massoud

Now I remember why they kicked my Dad out. They’re beyond insane

2018-03-18 22:35:00 John Massoud

Interesting the low support for E. W.

2018-03-18 04:28:00 John Massoud

Establishment goons like Brian Schoeneman. Now that’s funny

2018-03-17 20:45:00 John Massoud

Should not have taken so long

2018-03-17 11:33:00 John Massoud

Lamb won because he ran as a conservative Democrat – not giving into the Planned Parenthood, Mike Bloomberg wing of the Democratic party – he promised to support Trump where they agree and to respectfully disagree – but most important of all – he promised to NOT support San Fran Nan for Speaker.

Again assuming this district is done away with – his pledges may not mean much. But Lamb is a smart campaigner, and quite frankly Saccone did a horrible job and deserved to lose.

2018-03-15 16:55:00 John Massoud

Assuming that Jeanine is correct, let’s hope someone primaries Hanger in 2019

2018-03-14 08:07:00 John Massoud

Stewart filed 15000, Freitas filed 12500 or so. No word on E. W. yet

2018-03-13 04:34:00 John Massoud

Since I’m technically a “person of color” (aka not a white guy but still Caucasian) I find any suggestion that conservatives and Trump supporters (sometimes different entities) rather insulting. As you do too!

2018-03-12 12:44:00 John Massoud

Coming from a guy who supported Frank Wagner (Mr Obama Care and Mr. Tax and Spend) your supposed love of the non- establishment rings very hollow.

2018-03-12 12:43:00 John Massoud

With that being said, Steven it’s hard for me to take anyone seriously who says they support free markets and the Freedom Caucus yet voted for Frank Wagner in the 2017 primary

2018-03-09 09:05:00 John Massoud

What Warmac said. I do this as my contribution to the cause of liberty

Regarding R votes, R votes is part of the reason Goodlatte got over 70% on Strasburg on 2016 where he only got 62% in 2012.

Sadly our County Committee did not allow for an app in 2017.

2018-02-24 02:35:00 John Massoud

2018-02-14 18:52:00 John Massoud

Chris, thanks for that, was wondering the same thing. What does Trump have to do with this? It’s a discussion about who is the better man for the job of Fx GOP Chair and what did Fredy Burgos say or not say, and should he go or not. Also if those who want Burgos out are the same types who sit back (ala John McCain) while we get trashed by liberals and they do and say nothing.

Certain crazies would be better off not talking about Trump or never Trump, and shut their mouths and do their jobs instead.

2018-02-14 12:57:00 John Massoud

It’s way beyond NEVER TRUMP. They actually honestly state that Dave Brat is the most worthless Congress member of the Virginia delegation. They’ve done so repeatedly. BD would be better off calling themselves a moderate Democrat publication (if such things as moderate Democrats still exist).

2018-02-14 12:43:00 John Massoud

I have no interest in this race – other than how it pertains to the rest of the state. Whoever wins is immaterial, other than we should all want the best candidate to win. And if that is Mr. Hannigan’s opponent – then I hope he wins. All I’m saying is that BD is not a reliable source of news in Va politics. And the editors of BD are establishment hacks.

2018-02-14 10:29:00 John Massoud

And that is what makes TBE and Jeanine Martin and Steve Albertson such a pleasure to read and write for. Great writers like yourself Mick. And that anyone is welcome to comment, provided they’re respectful. Unlike the other VA blog which demands that you walk in lock step with them or your opinions are openly not wanted.

2018-02-13 18:54:00 John Massoud

I’d go to the other blog and offer a few opinions – but have been told by the people running that website that I was not welcome to comment on their blog after blasting one of the writers for “being a proud member of the GOP establishment” and saying that “the only problem with the Republican party is we need to get rid of all conservatives”.

So quite frankly, there is nothing of value to read in that other Va politics website.

Mick – thank you for being a voice of reason in this issue. I don’t know much about Fairfax GOP politics anymore – but the whole thing seemed like a bit of a witch hunt to me to try and get Hannigan to stand down. I read you quite often, and this is the best piece you have written. That’s the style!!!

2018-02-13 18:44:00 John Massoud

When both parties are talking about a trillion dollar deficit as being a good thing, you should get emotional. its not you or I who will suffer, it’s our children and children’s children. This is generational theft.

2018-02-12 19:00:00 John Massoud

Then what term would you use to explain how we lost something which should be impossible to lose because some snot nose punk named Steve Bannon decided to endorse someone who everyone knew was a flawed candidate (Roy Moore). I don’t think that Moore is a child molestor and rapist. But he is rather ridiculous. And not terribly popular in Alabama

2018-02-12 17:59:00 John Massoud

This isn’t market pricing – this is the government charging us for using what we’ve already paid for in tax dollars.

2018-02-12 16:35:00 John Massoud

They need an angry underclass to keep voting

2018-02-12 08:30:00 John Massoud

Odd that Mo Brooks was on the list of top conservatives yet got few votes when running for Senate. Anyone wanna head slap Bannon over that?

2018-02-10 23:44:00 John Massoud

2018-02-10 06:49:00 John Massoud

We feel your pain here in Shenandoah County

2018-01-29 21:45:00 John Massoud

I’m a former Never Trumper – meaning that during the 2016 primary season, I was not going to support Trump no matter what. I came on board later on – once he selected Mike Pence – which showed me that Trump was serious about conservative governance. So I get the concern about Trump. However now that he’s president and is carrying out a conservative agenda, and an agenda that many of these NEVER TRUMPERS really should agree with, how they can still oppose him means only one thing. The Bill Kristol’s of the world don’t care about the GOP or conservative polices – they only care about their butt hurt ego’s and getting their ugly mugs on camera.

2018-01-26 12:00:00 John Massoud

We’re talking about certain people who are rooting for the country to fail or for the GOP to fail because of their hatred for Trump

2018-01-26 09:52:00 John Massoud

Your article could be titled. Why I Left N. Va for the Shenandoah Valley.

2018-01-21 18:02:00 John Massoud

That’s how we roll

2018-01-21 16:28:00 John Massoud

2018-01-21 05:54:00 John Massoud

God be praised. Well done Ken Adams

2018-01-20 01:20:00 John Massoud

My dear Craig, a few thoughts if I may.

First off, I appreciate that you’re supporting Ben Cline. He’s an outstanding man with great conservative credentials. However if I were on Team Cline (and again let me say for the record that I’m neutral in this race for 2 or 3 various reasons), I’d not be spending hours upon hours upon hours worrying about the convention rules. I’d be out there rounding up delegates and talking about my own conservative credentials. Not carping about process.

Second, yes I was at the 2013 convention, and sat through the entire fiasco. I also sat through the 2016 state convention in Harrisonburg last year, which was almost as big a clown car show as 2013. I tend to support conventions, but since RPV can’t seem perform the “better mechanics” that you yourself called for…………..

Third, my 21 year old and 19 year old go to Liberty. It’s unfortunate they can’t be delegates at the upcoming convention because they’ll be at the graduation ceremonies. But they don’t feel as they’re being picked on or discriminated against. Now if you or one of your friends feels as though they’re being discriminated against because they can’t go to the convention – not sure what to tell you.

Well written otherwise. Keep it real and see you at the convention!!!!

your servant

JM

2018-01-18 10:54:00 John Massoud

Thanks you’re very kind. Given that I’m not a white guy (caucasian but not white), I feel your pain in a way that few can understand. The GOP has a very poor history of reaching out to any non white male. And they really don’t understand the issue. Party representatives will show up at a function which would have quite a few Latino’s or African Americans, and they’ll talk and then leave and never make another attempt to contact these people. Allen West and Sean Hannity sparred about this issue on his radio show a few years back. West tried to tell Hannity that the GOP needs to show up. Hannity said back we do. West says yes you may show up occasionally, but the GOP will then forget about black people for awhile until the next big event, and wonder why African Americans won’t vote Republican.

They went back and forth a few times. And until someone high up in the GOP gets it, and really goes out of their way to court non whites – this will be a continuing issue for the GOP and conservatism.

This article was not a shot at Ben Cline who is a personal friend of mine and someone who I admire greatly. It was to try and explain just how the 6th District did not commit some cardinal sin.

2018-01-16 19:29:00 John Massoud

If I were Mr. Cline or Mrs. Dunbar, I’d worry about Chaz Haywood – he’s putting together quite a nice GOTV operation in Shenandoah, Page, and Rockingham counties. Now that’s only 3 of the 17 localities of CD 6, but it’s one heck of a start. FYI, I’m not supporting Chaz Haywood either.

2018-01-16 11:51:00 John Massoud

No one complained about the single ballot rule in 2016, why is this such a big deal now?

2018-01-12 16:08:00 John Massoud

People who write or contribute or who edit TBE don’t have anything against Corey Stewart. Myself included.

2018-01-11 18:10:00 John Massoud

2018-01-05 18:21:00 John Massoud

Forget online, you should meet some of those in the “sensible center” and see how loony they act. It’s scary. I really should do a column just coming up with quotes from supposed “moderate Republicans”. They’re more terrifying than what comes out of the left’s mouth.

2018-01-02 11:35:00 John Massoud

Redstate.com lost it for me the moment they went full NEVER Trump. Glad to hear The American Thinker got a spot. And Michael Giere is right – we was robbed!

Moderate Republicans often aren’t much better

2017-12-31 16:40:00 John Massoud

Donald Trump is a rich guy, and rich guys know how to make money. I have little doubt that Trump will figure out a way to make money after he leaves office. Same as Bill Clinton did, same as GW Bush did. Scarborough really needs to check hisself into a mental institution if he thinks that ex Presidents don’t cash in.

2017-12-06 18:21:00 John Massoud

Sadly the voters endorsed this in November, and now it is for us to ram it down the throats of those who voted Democrat in NOVA who usually vote GOP but thought they were going to send a message to Trump. All they did was hurt everyone else, and themselves especially.

2017-12-06 15:56:00 John Massoud

2017-11-27 11:43:00 John Massoud

400,000 or so extra voters came out and voted D. In protest of Trump. No other way to say it

2017-11-26 15:09:00 John Massoud

I’m quite proud of how we are doing in N. Shenandoah County. Our numbers went up significantly from 2013. Just too bad we couldn’t do the same in the rest of the state

2017-11-25 05:16:00 John Massoud

Hiya Queen

2017-11-17 07:56:00 John Massoud

Did you finally

2017-11-12 11:07:00 John Massoud

Rocinante for Governor. He may be a lunatic but he’s a heck of a good guy

2017-11-11 22:56:00 John Massoud

Rocinante does exist

Jeanine, what HD number is near the panhandle which flipped from R to D? Does anyone know?

2017-11-09 12:22:00 John Massoud

Average turnout in Strasburg

Do we know why this fool shot up the church

2017-11-07 11:20:00 John Massoud

Corey Stewart came out on Facebook live to tell everyone to vote for Ed Gillespie

2017-11-05 16:45:00 John Massoud

Great ad Jill

2017-11-05 08:34:00 John Massoud

I’ve spent alot of time in Loudoun and Fairfax County courts. Judges do not like cops overcharging. No cop would write a reckless driving charge in either locale without good reason.

2017-11-03 14:18:00 John Massoud

Gee someone sounds a wee bit testy today

2017-11-03 13:12:00 John Massoud

HUH?

I’m actually a GOP Magisterial District Chair, head of the Tea Party in Shenandoah County, a regional field director for Ed Gillespie, and ran Donald Trumps campaign for President in the Northern part of Shenandoah County.

Shall I continue?

2017-11-03 09:45:00 John Massoud

Speeding who cares. Reckless is something cops don’t charge with unless the driver is really doing something bad. Like racing or driving 25+ over the limit

2017-11-03 08:22:00 John Massoud

Typical

2017-11-03 08:14:00 John Massoud

Wow

2017-10-31 21:10:00 John Massoud

I have just the person in mind who needs to see this. Well written

2017-10-31 08:01:00 John Massoud

Disgusting yet not shocking

2017-10-29 17:05:00 John Massoud

We need to get him over the hump.

2017-10-27 15:00:00 John Massoud

Chad – I would expect that Jill will win – it’s Adams we need to get over the finish line. Ed too. Best guess is that Ed is ahead by a point or so, but that’s not something anyone should be comfortable with.

2017-10-27 09:44:00 John Massoud

Jack Morgan is a great American. Anyone else care to comment on The Wave?

2017-10-26 16:58:00 John Massoud

Aren’t they the same people preaching about income inequality

2017-10-26 08:45:00 John Massoud

Didn’t believe the poll which had Northam up by 14. Don’t believe this either. Time for us to redouble our efforts and bring home a win.

2017-10-26 08:13:00 John Massoud

Someone I know well asked me why Flake and others in DC hate Trump, and I had to explain to this person that 92% of GOP voters voted for Trump in 2016. Now some of them voted for Trump while holding their nose. But they still voted. Flake and many inside DC don’t get one simple fact. The overwhelming majority of Republicans, be they conservatives, Tea Party types (such as myself), moderates, libertarians, support Trump. They may get offended by a few of his Twitter comments, but otherwise they will vote for Trump again in 2020. Flake has spent so long inside the Beltway that he likely can not comprehend this fact. Same with so many others in the GOP who can’t stand Trump. Now I can understand not liking Trump – but a few (Flake, McCain for example) have taken it too far.

And as much as I hate to say this, Lindsay Graham has been pretty mature when it comes to his feelings on Trump. Graham has been trying to work with the Trump administration where he can, and opposing Trump or trying to cut a deal where he can not. No I’m not saying that we should support Graham, because he needs to go as well. But let’s give credit where credit is due.

2017-10-25 16:37:00 John Massoud

Portugul and SD are a pair of lunatics. It’s why I’ve blocked them both, and my stress level is way down.

2017-10-25 11:30:00 John Massoud

How did Rocinante’s comment get on this thread? I’ve missed torturing him!!!!

2017-10-24 18:23:00 John Massoud

I’ve never trusted the WP as being an objective teller of news. Nor should anyone else.

2017-10-19 13:59:00 John Massoud

I’ve seen this in many places, but are we sure this happened

2017-10-18 11:07:00 John Massoud

Southern Inn of Lexington is a great place also.

2017-10-15 09:41:00 John Massoud

Great song to sing. I’ve sung Oh I’m a Good Ole Rebel” in public before, really freaked a few people out.

2017-10-13 12:48:00 John Massoud

Ed has already come out in favor of keeping Confederate statues. What else should Ed do? Sing the Bonnie Blue Flag?

2017-10-12 18:09:00 John Massoud

Not being a “white guy” myself, let me explain what “average American” means. Male or female, age or race not important. Loves their country, works hard to pay their bills. Average American may be a Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative. Goes to some type of Christian church, does a bit of volunteer work in their community, either for their church or for some charitable organization. Makes somewhere between 40-125,000 per year. Loves their family and uses sports as their escape for a few hours per week. They may or may not actually agree with the NFL players who are protesting about injustices, but do not think that protesting during the Star Spangled Banner is a good way to protest.

2017-10-12 10:55:00 John Massoud

Note that the author used a comparison between Amy Grant, who was a famous Christian musician who went into pop music for awhile and had some family issues and then mostly returned to Christian contemporary music and Rick Warren, who used to preach a good sermon and then seems to have gone off the reservation into lala land. Mine was a valid question.

2017-10-11 12:40:00 John Massoud

Sorry but I’m a bit confused here. Is the author trying to suggest that Amy Grant is a liberal? Never knew that Amy Grant had any political leanings whatsoever.

2017-10-09 17:08:00 John Massoud

Well done Mr. Vice President. That’s the style

2017-10-08 20:00:00 John Massoud

Sd you forgot to call everyone outside of NoVa a racist

2017-10-07 23:12:00 John Massoud

Like you I’ve quit watching the NFL – but for me it’s a great loss. However until the NFL puts the stem on the apple and boots Goodell and gets rid of the PC culture inside the organization and the teams, I’ll be glad to do something else. If the NFL does the right thing – then you’ll see it’s fans come roaring back. However not sure they collectively have the guts to do so – and what needs to be done is so very simple.

1) Fire Goodell
2) Have the new Commissioner issue an edict stating the rules on page A 62-63 of the rule book regarding the Anthem will be enforced.
3) Apologize to the fans
4) Tell the players who think they have an honest gripe that they have the right to protest and their 1st Amendment right to protest will be respected, but not during games.

2017-10-04 15:40:00 John Massoud

I’ll yield on this, it was the Army Air Corps

2017-10-04 02:48:00 John Massoud

Someone might want to remind SD that I’m not a white guy. Or should we be worried that I’m a “brown supremacist”?

2017-10-03 16:40:00 John Massoud

Outstanding analysis.

2017-10-03 09:36:00 John Massoud

Limbaugh had an interesting take on this last week. He said that the GOP Senators are more afraid of their donors than of the electorate. So if We the People can make the politicians more afraid of us and afraid of not keeping their promises, we should be fine then!

2017-10-02 12:48:00 John Massoud

Well said. Goodell is responsible and must go

2017-10-01 21:32:00 John Massoud

Motel 5. I used to stay at a Motel 6, but since us conservatives are trying to cut 15% across the board…….

Just so long as you remember, I got this talent because I saved money by switching to GEICO

I shall always go where angels fear to tread. Plus, anyone who wants to defend tgat swamp dwelling creep either needs their head examined or is a Democrat

2017-09-25 20:06:00 John Massoud

My new favorite sport has become College All Star Baseball. We in the Shenandoah Valley have a College All Star league here and the teams are very well followed. So instead of spending money on a bunch of athletes who don’t care whether I live or die and have let me know they think we who don’t agree with them on everything are pond scum, it’s more fun, cheaper, and a better time all around for me to watch the Strasburg Express. For $5, I get a couple hours of good entertainment, see friends, and don’t have to listen to preening from ESPN. Life is good!

2017-09-25 11:27:00 John Massoud

Oh and FYI, since McCain self identifies with Teddy Roosevelt who was part of the “Progressive era” – it’s slander to call him a conservative.

2017-09-25 10:09:00 John Massoud

OK then – how’s about I have everyone in my office whose insurance premiums are going up starting October 1 to thank you as well as John McCain. Since it’s trolls like you who keep voting that swamp dwelling creep back into office

2017-09-25 10:01:00 John Massoud

Steve, you’re forgetting something. Rand Paul is trying to preserve Medicaid funding wbile also angling a run for the presidency in 2024. Kentucky haa a large number of Medicaid recipients. He’s not being pure, Rand Paul is lying.

John McCain does not care about comity in the Senate. He is by his own words a progressive. For all his straighttalk clap trap, McCain is a lying dog. Same as Rand Paul.

2017-09-22 19:58:00 John Massoud

Well we know who we have to thank for this current predicament – those swamp dwelling creeps John McCain and Lisa Murkowski.

I was born in NOVA, and left there to live in the Valley. The Valley has the most beautiful people and they’re not the rednecks and beer drinking slobs that many NOVA elitists make us out to be. We are quite sophisticated politically and are very involved in our community and with our school system. We also understand our collective history, where NOVA is now just an extension of DC and the swamp.

Sad but true.

2017-08-31 09:41:00 John Massoud

Seriously?

2017-08-29 13:23:00 John Massoud

Most of the people who are trying to remove Lee and Jackson and the rest are not real Virginians nor do they understand the concept of what it meant to live in the US in 1860. The average man or woman from Ohio thought of themselves as an Ohioan first. Same with North Carolina and Virginia. Each of the United States at the time saw itself as an individual country. Question was did they want to be part of the Union or not.

2017-08-28 10:46:00 John Massoud

Obama won because McCain has spent a lifetime trying to be a Democrat.

2017-08-27 11:08:00 John Massoud

Disgusting

2017-08-16 21:40:00 John Massoud

Truer words were never spoken. Cuomo bullied Cuccinelli into that apology even though the liberal talking head needed to be told to shut her yap. If anything, Cuccinelli should have said – I’ll apologize for telling her to shutup after she apologizes to me for conisistently interrupting me, and you apologize to the American people for all the lies you have told about Republicans over the decades.

2017-08-16 14:00:00 John Massoud

And how they may look at the situation does not matter. Facts are stubborn things

2017-08-15 20:23:00 John Massoud

2017-08-13 17:35:00 John Massoud

I very clearly said that since the Daily Caller is using “unnamed sources” that it could be true, or it could NOT be true. However what can not be debated is the fact that Kaepernick has allowed himself to be used by his radical squeeze to speak out about BLM propaganda, and now thinks that he’s some sort of MLK style figure. He’s deluded and by the time Kaepernick figures it out, likely his career will be over and he’ll be a has been

2017-08-08 19:31:00 John Massoud

Interesting. What I find fascinating is that Ed has a SnapChat channel, and talks to people there. Kids really love SnapChat (even though I personally despise it) and that’s the type of thing which will really work with white millenials. Remember that Trump won white millenials by 5%.

2017-08-08 16:23:00 John Massoud

Does Loudoun not have a functioning Democratic party? I knew that till recently, all BoS members were Republicans. But still was sure they had one. In 2016, if the Shenandoah County Democrats tried to have a party convention, it could have taken place in a pay toilet.

Now they’re having outdoor rallies. Not huge ones, but they’re no longer just 5 people, a banner, and a rent a donkey.

2017-08-07 17:30:00 John Massoud

PBS? Seriously? And Trump’s twitter feed is NOT a news site. TBE is a news site. American Thinker is a news site. Red State is a news site. Daily Caller, Huff Post, the list goes on and on. Facebook and Twitter are not news.

2017-08-07 17:05:00 John Massoud

Democrats can’t take this speech to heart because their agenda is all about government control at the expense of personal liberty. Progressive Republicans can’t take this speech to heart because they’re too busy trying to say to liberals – HEY LOOK IM A GOOD GUY/GAL TOO – WON’T YOU PLEASE LIKE ME?

2017-08-02 14:42:00 John Massoud

Was just thinking the same thing, didn’t the convention delegates start booing God in 2012?

2017-08-01 17:06:00 John Massoud

2017-07-24 21:16:00 John Massoud

Happy is good yes, but you need to make sure the people you have on your team will work and are competent most of all.

2017-07-24 13:53:00 John Massoud

First off, great article. Anytime we’re debating the greatness of our Founding Fathers it’s a good thing. My comparison of the Federalists as being Joe Lieberman style Democrats was a very rough comparison. But I must say, the reason I would never call Hamilton an “anti establishment” politician was – he was born a bastard yes, but he married into high society. Burr did have a good lineage for sure, but his relatives all died shortly after he was born. And Burr did take on the ruling class in Albany. Where Hamilton was a bit of a monarchist.

Great read – let’s do more of this!!!!!

2017-07-24 10:43:00 John Massoud

2017-07-21 17:13:00 John Massoud

What a scumbag

2017-07-20 21:55:00 John Massoud

It’s part of why I moved from Leesburg to Strasburg. Takes me 60 minutes to get to work each day in Falls Church, a 72 mile commute. Takes me upwards of 90 minutes to go from Falls Church to Leesburg – a 32 mile commute. Nuts

2017-07-20 17:08:00 John Massoud

Loudoun is starting to be more and more like Washington DC.

2017-07-14 04:16:00 John Massoud

Stewart will be formidable in 2018, but first he should talk to Gillespie and help out the ticket by campaigning for them. Whether his minions want to hear this or not, they’ll need the support of the Gillespie people to win.

2017-07-13 12:10:00 John Massoud

And we’re not removing McCabe why?

2017-07-13 11:51:00 John Massoud

Sad. But makes sense

2017-07-13 00:49:00 John Massoud

For the record, I post here occasionally and have never seen one dollar for doing so. I post here as a frustrated Tea Party activist who is sick of an out of control government and political correctness.

The Bull Elephant is a great place for me to post my disgust at the ruling class.

Thank you Jeanine Martin for publishing me.

2017-07-11 01:17:00 John Massoud

Then business owners can thank YOU for the raise in the minimum wage to $15.00 per hour. And residents can thank YOU for a tax increase. And just think, everyone will have you personally to thank for their tax increase and fewer jobs.

2017-07-10 17:42:00 John Massoud

Fascinating how it took a supposed woman hater like Senator Dick Black to figure out that genital mutilation is and should be a crime. And given that I commute 72 miles each way to and from work, thanks to whichever Delegate or Senator it was who sponsored the law making it illegal to dawdle in the left lane!

2017-07-03 12:47:00 John Massoud

Jeanine – thanks for the interactive map of Va. Fascinating how Va will look in 23 years.

2017-07-03 12:46:00 John Massoud

Connie – they have had fatal incidents – quite a few. The most bizarre incident was when (no fatalities here) one of the trains caught on fire, and the entire system was shut down. How no one died that day was beyond me.

But they have had several fatal incidents – Metro just dodged a bullet that time was all.

2017-06-29 15:19:00 John Massoud

Which sucker or Zucker – we have so many to choose from

2017-06-27 11:01:00 John Massoud

The point was that Snopes is less credible than the National Enquirer. Actually to put those 2 in the same sentence is an insult to the Enquirer. At least they got the John Edwards story right. More than one can say for Snopes.

2017-06-27 10:36:00 John Massoud

Why people still pay attention to Snopes is beyond me

2017-06-27 08:38:00 John Massoud

Outstanding thank you for that.

2017-06-26 11:58:00 John Massoud

I assume you voted for the Convention – or did I misunderstand you?

2017-06-26 11:07:00 John Massoud

How do we get a list of who voted for the primary vs caucus

2017-06-26 05:53:00 John Massoud

Let’s see how many our no show Lt. Governor decides to attend

2017-06-23 09:16:00 John Massoud

That’s why Trump was nominated and elected. Unlike the other candidates (Carly Fiorina excepted) the rest seemed unable or unwilling to fight back

2017-06-22 13:32:00 John Massoud

If I’m reading you correctly, you actually believe that Ken Cuccinelli would have allowed sanctuary cities in Va? If you actually believe that, then I don’t know what to say, other than good luck to you.

2017-06-22 11:37:00 John Massoud

Fascinating read

2017-06-22 02:52:00 John Massoud

Ed will fight for us and for all Virginians

2017-06-21 19:27:00 John Massoud

Just curious, if TBE is so horrible, why do you still read it?

2017-06-21 16:46:00 John Massoud

Corey didn’t do too badly in the 2013 Convention. If it hadn’t been for EW Jackson and that great convention speech, Corey might have been the Lt. Governor nominee.

2017-06-21 16:45:00 John Massoud

Well one could say that Mr. Kenney was acting like an extreme jerkoff.

2017-06-21 14:58:00 John Massoud

Richard, thanks for the kind words, and that’s why we have elections. And I will grant you that the team needs to step it up or else we will have Governor Northam.

2017-06-21 09:33:00 John Massoud

Hahaha

2017-06-21 02:47:00 John Massoud

Brat would be a great Senator.

2017-06-20 16:05:00 John Massoud

Well said Frank. But sadly, some are in the business of trying to destroy the party in the name of conservatism. Actually what they’re trying to do is to make themselves look good at the expense of Virginia and the cause of conservatism.

2017-06-20 13:40:00 John Massoud

Again I remember the whole thing very well. Trump won fair and square. Cuccinelli and some of his buddies tried to hijack the convention. Was a horrible idea on their part. With that being said, I adore Mike Lee and think he’s a principled guy. Just made a bad move there with Cooch was all.

2017-06-20 12:03:00 John Massoud

The vitriol hurled at Rick Buchanan a major Tea Party figure was ridiculous. But he never whined.

2017-06-20 11:57:00 John Massoud

There was name calling on both sides. Me being the head of the Shenandoah County Tea party didn’t appreciate being called a RINO, but it happened. I never publicly complained. Do I think Stewart supporters are racists? Of course not. Time for us to work together to defeat Ralph Northam.

2017-06-20 11:56:00 John Massoud

Corey did concede on Social media – and said he’d support the Republican ticket.

2017-06-20 10:57:00 John Massoud

Cuccinelli didn’t help hisself at the National convention – we can all agree on that.

2017-06-20 10:55:00 John Massoud

Eric – I’ve been setting up meetings with Corey Stewart supporters with both Ed and Cathy Gillespie. One of these meetings will occur today. So Ed and Cathy are reaching out to Corey Stewart supporters.

2017-06-20 10:32:00 John Massoud

I’ll agree. Mr. Kenney needs to tone down his enthusiasm.

2017-06-20 08:04:00 John Massoud

Great point, and as the head of the Tea Party in Shenandoah County (also a GOP District Chair), I can explain it to you quite easily. We’ve been too nice to the Establishment for far too long, and they are quite frankly at times hateful and despicable human beings.

In Shenandoah County, the GOP treats the party not as a political party to get candidates elected, but as a social club where they can hang out and waste time. So when activists like myself and my friends want to do things to increase our voter turnout, we are thwarted in every direction. For example, we want to use a voter app. But the local committee has been trying to stop that for months now – and so far doing one heck of a good job. They do so – and in doing so hurt their own members – but they’re so hate filled they could care less.

For all of our talk about how nasty some liberals can be (and I’ll grant you they’re nasty at times) the nastier people by far are quite often “establishment Republicans” towards the conservative base. I’d rather deal with a liberal Democrat than a true establishment Republican any day of the week. Some of the things they say to me way beyond cross the line. (aka one establishment Republican saying to me that all gun owners should be taken out and shot – another said publicly about the previous head of the local Tea Party – they “were glad this person dropped dead and hoped they burn in hell”.

These are hateful people. And they need to be suppressed.

2017-06-16 13:07:00 John Massoud

Do you know how to read the English language? Read what was said and not what you may have wanted it to say. FYI, I’ve already reached out to Corey Stewart offering my help in the future. What I did say was that your sociopathic need to fight with everyone won’t help Corey in the future.

2017-06-16 12:08:00 John Massoud

Well sadly for you, you’ll need Ed supporters when Corey runs again in 2018. So you might want to rethink burning all your bridges and your rather inane rhetoric – as it will come back to bite you in the 000 sooner than you think.

2017-06-16 11:33:00 John Massoud

Our main concern needs to be getting our own base to turn out in November. Dem turnout in Strasburg, where I live, was much higher than imagined. I was telling Team Gillespie that it would be in excess of 100 voters (maybe 150 tops). But they had about 224 voters, we had 275. If we don’t step our efforts up, then we have Governor Northam and $15 per hour minimum wages and the beginning of the end of the right to work state. This is serious.

For a comparison, in 2013, when the Dems had a Lt. Governor primary and Delegate Todd Gilbert was being primaried by a lunatic – Strasburg had about 226 voters in the GOP primary, and the Democratic Lt. Governor primary had 44 voters.

This must not occur in November or else we’re screwed. Strasburg is just one Magisterial District, but it’s indicative of what occurred statewide on Tuesday.

2017-06-16 10:25:00 John Massoud

Hope to see you in Leesburg later today. I’m thinking they’ll talk soon enough. Corey needs Ed and his supporters as much as Ed needs Corey’s supporters.

2017-06-16 09:31:00 John Massoud

Corey Stewart’s concession on Facebook was perfect pitch. Time to move on. Ed Gillespie for Governor

2017-06-16 06:16:00 John Massoud

Corey’s concession speech on Facebook Live was spot on 100%. He admits that Ed won, that he has no regrets, that he fought the good fight, but that Ed won and he will vote for the ticket in November. He also said that Ed must be committed to fighting to ban sanctuary cities (Ed has already campaigned against the concept of sanctuary cities) and to make sure that our heritage remains intact (15-2.1812 of the VA code ensures this already and Ed won’t get rid of the law and no Republican would dare propose getting rid of the law) so all will be fine come November, other than a few spoiled sports who wouldn’t be happy if Christ Hisself was the nominee.

2017-06-15 11:58:00 John Massoud

Did you just say that if I don’t agree with someone 100% on something – then I must be opposed to them?

And mine wasn’t a “hit piece”. Mine was an explanation on what Ed’s position was. Oh and for the record. VA Code Section 15.2-1812 specifically prohibits the removal of any war memorial statue from the French and Indian War through Iraqi Freedom.

And the law specifically says and I quote: ” A locality may, within the geographical limits of the locality, authorize and permit the erection of monuments or memorials for any war or conflict, or for any engagement of such war or conflict, to include the following monuments or memorials: Algonquin (1622), French and Indian (1754-1763), Revolutionary (1775-1783), War of 1812 (1812-1815), Mexican (1846-1848), Confederate or Union monuments or memorials of the War Between the States (1861-1865), Spanish-American (1898), World War I (1917-1918), World War II (1941-1945), Korean (1950-1953), Vietnam (1965-1973), Operation Desert Shield-Desert Storm (1990-1991), Global War on Terrorism (2000- ), Operation Enduring Freedom (2001- ), and Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003- ).

If such are erected, it shall be unlawful for the authorities of the locality, or any other person or persons, to disturb or interfere with any monuments or memorials so erected, or to prevent its citizens from taking proper measures and exercising proper means for the protection, preservation and care of same”.

So quite honestly, first off, you do not know the law. Secondly – if you think anyone who supports someone else other than who you support is “against you” then you are not part of the solution, or part of taking back Virginia. You are part of the problem.

For the record, Corey Stewart and I are personal friends, and I’ve donated to him in the past – which is probably more than you have done.

Since the law is already on the books, I don’t want it taken off, but don’t want the Legislature wasting time writing more laws on the books either. Aka I support small government conservatism. What you support, that you must figure out for yourself.

2017-06-15 10:00:00 John Massoud

Well said. Give Team Corey a few days to decompress. Corey will need to endorse Ed if he wsnts to remain a force. It will get worked out. Everyone needs to take deep breaths

2017-06-14 18:06:00 John Massoud

Thanks – I’d tend to agree with you. However now it seems that if you support less laws and less government and more local control, that makes us communists.

2017-06-14 16:57:00 John Massoud

Odd, I remember writing one article on here explaining Ed’s position on the Confederate monuments, but don’t remember trashing Corey or his supporters. I do have issues with a few of them, but as I said above, if 98-99% of a group of people are good people, then I prefer to not let the 1-2% affect my thoughts.

Now I do find myself increasingly at odds with people who are Corey supporters who call me an “establishment hack”, or people like some who post on here alot who would trash Ed Gillespie if he found a cure for cancer. But again they are the exception and not the rule.

Jeanine Martin is good people who supports conservative causes and conservative candidates. I don’t see her as being an unfair person. You can disagree with who she supports – but saying this blog is unfair – well that’s plain wrong.

And regarding the “trashing” of Corey supporters, the fact is that the only ones who were ever really trashed here were those calling anyone who didn’t agree with them an establishment hack. Something to ponder.

2017-06-14 14:39:00 John Massoud

Emotions are raw right now. Corey came close – and his supporters did their best. I honor them and appreciate their hard work on behalf of Corey. With a few exceptions – 99% of Corey Stewart supporters are good people. Many of them are my personal friends. Trashing Corey supporters when we will need them is not a good idea.

They should be proud of their hard work. And I am proud to call them my fellow Virginians and my friends.

2017-06-14 14:21:00 John Massoud

I’ll vote for Corey and will donate – and will make sure that Corey does well in Shenandoah County, where he will have support. Problem is that Corey would get killed in the General in NOVA. And these rocket scientists can’t seem to figure that one out. Or won’t.

2017-06-12 18:14:00 John Massoud

So since Corey Stewart has raised personal property taxes to an ungodly amount (among the highest in Va), and has reigned over a 21-25% increase in real estate taxes at the same time………….. (this reply should be good)

Not to mention that of the 5 governor candidates running, Corey is the only one who has actually presided over a white washing of history, proud that Mills Godwin school in PW changed it’s name because Godwin may have supported segregation previously.

(Can’t wait to hear this one explained away)

2017-06-12 17:30:00 John Massoud

95% of them will end up supporting whoever the nominee is. If for example, Corey wins tomorrow, for all the talk from Gillespie supporters about hating on Corey, they’ll all get over it after a matter of days or maybe a couple weeks. Only people who won’t get over it are those whose head is so far up their own (__|__) that they’d really prefer a Democrat gets elected. And quite frankly, those people usually cause more trouble than they’re worth.

2017-06-12 17:19:00 John Massoud

Those who voted for McMullin will likely be supporting Ed. I can name you a few Never Trumpers who voted for Johnson, who will be supporting Ed. Mostly establishment Republicans.

2017-06-12 16:27:00 John Massoud

Gonna be an uphill race for her. Hope she does well!

2017-06-12 13:41:00 John Massoud

Go Ed Gillespie

2017-06-12 08:02:00 John Massoud

Like raise their taxes

2017-06-08 06:31:00 John Massoud

This is wrong in so many ways. Since she’s obviously too stupid to know how to read the Constitution. Trump has to commit an impeachable offense. Aka bribery or treason or a “high crime and misdemeanor”. Not liking someone for using social media is NOT an impeachable offense.

2017-06-06 18:07:00 John Massoud

You really want me to respond to this?

2017-06-06 13:26:00 John Massoud

The arrogance of the so called “sensible center” or moderates – and how insulting they can be is beyond ridiculous. One of them had the absolute gall to say to me on multiple occasions that “all the soldiers who were shot in Iraq deserved it”. However one feels about the Iraq war one way or another, don’t wish for bad things for our troops.

Another rocket scientist member of the GOP sensible center was whining about how all NRA members should be taken out and shot. No idea why someone else could be offended by that.

Another so called “moderate” had the nerve to tell me it’s anti Christian to post in TBE about Jesus Christ.

These people can be really nauseating.

2017-06-05 16:51:00 John Massoud

. We all endorse and or support people whose values don’t line up 100% with ours, but we support them anyway for personal reasons. Sometimes it’s out of friendship with that person or a family member of the candidate, sometimes it’s because we’ve worked with them or for them. Sometimes it’s a visceral reaction. Other times it’s because we can’t stand the other candidates in a race.

In 2013, I supported and campaigned hard for Jeanne Marie Devolites Davis for Lt. Governor. She was no where near the most conservative candidate in the race. To the contrary she was probably the least conservative. But I have known her for years and always respected and admired her, and am a personal fan of Tom Davis. I’d make that choice again if given the opportunity to do so. For either Jeanne Marie or for Tom Davis. Doesn’t mean I agree

If you feel for certain reasons that Glenn Davis is the right choice for you, then by all means support that person. That doesn’t make you a RINO – just means you support Glenn Davis. I can disagree with you, and that’s my right.

The fact that I support Ed Gillespie for Governor doesn’t make me an establishment hack. I’m supporting Ed Gillespie because he’s the only guy with a proven track record of conservatism (aka small government and not supporting tax increases).

You’re correct that we need to allow all people into the party tent. But there must be a place for conservatives also. And until the “moderates” get that fact through their thick skulls – we won’t have peace anytime soon

2017-06-05 13:08:00 John Massoud

Problem is that the so called moderates expect us to suck up to them when they wun, but when we win, they grab their toys and run.

2017-06-04 11:58:00 John Massoud

This is a horrible idea. Strasburg received a several hundred thousand dollar grant from the feds, and they’re spending it on a park which no one will use, and in doing so, have purchased properties which now they can not use – literally a waste of the entire funding. Best part is, if any damage is done to the last building purchased by the Town, the Town owes the federal government all the money back.

2017-06-02 14:32:00 John Massoud

That picture – MY EYES MY EYES IM BLINDED FOR LIFE

2017-06-01 13:42:00 John Massoud

Wrong. American kids now expect unreasonable salaries. At Rite Aid in Ocean City, they offer $12.50 to the immigrants and find places for them to stay at low cost. How is that unreasonable?

2017-05-31 23:34:00 John Massoud

The writer understands something about the H-B visas that many Americans forget. When I graduated HS back in the early 1980’s, we kids saw it as a right of passage to get a job in Ocean City for the summer, put aside a few bucks, and get some experience. HS graduates nowadays or college students are either still living off of Mumsie and Daddy, or are too lazy, or think they’re too important to take a minimum wage job.

My HS classmates bragged about working at Ocean City for the summer. The coolest students of my HS class all got jobs at Ocean City or Rehoboth. Now I’ll see Northern Virginia HS graduates and ask them about their plans for the summer – and they’ll talk about going to the beach or hanging out. Ask them about summer jobs though and too many will say “got better things to do”.

Until American families and the like get their heads screwed on straight and stop supporting their children through their mid 20’s and later, we’ll need foreign workers to come into this country to do the jobs that, sadly, today’s American youth are too lazy or too privileged to do.

2017-05-31 09:27:00 John Massoud

For various reasons, Lieberman was not a good choice to lead the FBI. Glad he did the right thing and bowed out.

2017-05-29 23:59:00 John Massoud

Emporia?

2017-05-29 00:56:00 John Massoud

What consenting adults do is their business. But marriage is a Biblical thing. So a marriage of one is mocking God. That’s why we get upset.

2017-05-29 00:52:00 John Massoud

With all the defense spending, you’d think that a war monger like John McCain would be happy – but NOOOOOOOOOOO – wasn’t Little Mac one of the 1st to say “this budget is dead upon arrival”?

2017-05-25 17:20:00 John Massoud

Uh, it was working class people who were left behind by the Democrats, and who got sick of supporting Democrats. Because Democrats left the working class behind.

2017-05-24 11:50:00 John Massoud

Three way primary. No one knows who the nominee will be

2017-05-24 02:27:00 John Massoud

Reagan and Jeanine – thanks for posting this, never thought about how the libs can infiltrate a nursing home. Showing they’ll stop at nothing and there’s never going too low for them. Despicable.

2017-05-23 18:02:00 John Massoud

Glad to explain.

1) I’ve known Ed since 2013, and at every event Ed I’ve ever seen him at, or watching Ed Gillespie interact with voters – which is nearly 100 – people are always impressed with how he answers their questions.

2) Pretty much everyone who has interacted with Ed more than once has been impressed with his memory and his ability to remember names and faces and where they 1st met.

3) Ed has been out there this year talking to voters in every Congressional District, and in pretty much everyone of the 138 localities in Virginia. Everything from McLean Day – to a motorcycle event in Shenandoah County where we walked around and was asked questions about laws pertaining to motorcycle helmets and to motorcyclists being ticketed for being stopped 2 abreast at a stop light and how to best handle that issue.

He’s been meeting with voters regarding his tax policy, voters in the 9th Congressional District regarding coal, voters in Hampton Roads and Chesapeake and Newport News regarding the need to protect our ports, meeting with voters in NoVa regarding transportation needs.

Now I know a few people who won’t vote for him in the primary, but everyone says Ed is a gentleman who listened to them and answered their questions.

Shall I continue?

2017-05-22 14:13:00 John Massoud

Aka you’re talking like a Democrat. DUDE

2017-05-22 13:46:00 John Massoud

OK DUDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

2017-05-22 12:37:00 John Massoud

DUDE – what I do get is this. Since you’re trashing all Republicans as tax raising liberals based on one lie back from 2009, you’re likely a Democrat. Which is fine. Just admit it.

2017-05-22 12:13:00 John Massoud

I’m supporting the 10% across the board tax cut proposed by Ed Gillespie. Something you don’t seem to support.

2017-05-22 12:01:00 John Massoud

So are you supporting Northam or Perriello?

2017-05-22 11:42:00 John Massoud

Riggleman was and remains a fascinating guy. While I supported Chuck Smith, no one can argue or debate the liberty mind of John Adams. He will be a great AG. Lt. Governor is a tough call. All 3 of the candidates have their pluses and minuses. But I’ve met Bryce Reeves many times, and can assure you that he’s not running based on his gender.

With that being said – #Ed4Virginia

2017-05-22 10:28:00 John Massoud

Odd, I talk to Gillespie all the time, and any question I’ve ever asked, or any person I know has ever asked, he’s always answered. Now sometimes I don’t like the answer I get. But that’s life. Seems to me that you’re not really asking questions.

2017-05-22 10:26:00 John Massoud

McCabe is a partisan hack.

2017-05-21 00:36:00 John Massoud

Strasburg should be on the list as well. Beautiful area, good people with a real sense of the community and a deep appreciation for their history.

2017-05-21 00:33:00 John Massoud

Commies are still the minority in the Valley. But they are quite loud and boisterous. There is no real organized Democratic party in Shenandoah County. So you have 2 factions. One is conservatives, the other is the alternative to conservatives, which is the GOP. Sad but true. Which is why on my bio it says – HEAD OF THE FREEDOM CAUCUS OF THE SHENANDOAH COUNTY GOP. Aka the Tea Party contingent who wants to see real change here.

2017-05-19 15:54:00 John Massoud

Forgetting the fact that Lieberman has 0 law enforcement experience, being FBI Director is a 10 year commitment. Is he really going to stay on the job until age 85?

2017-05-19 15:05:00 John Massoud

Well said Mr. Congressman. Well done!!!!!

2017-05-17 17:15:00 John Massoud

Well said – brilliant article thanks for posting.

2017-05-17 09:51:00 John Massoud

Can’t see Wagner getting the nomination, saying you need to raise gas taxes when families are already strapped financially, for roads which will never be built or widened (see Rt. 15 in Loudoun) is a loser. Corey had a legitimate chance to win, but wrapping hisself in the Stars and Bars over and over and over again does not endear him to the average Virginian.

Ed will win in June, and likely it will be convincing.

2017-05-17 09:49:00 John Massoud

Great read thanks

2017-05-16 20:40:00 John Massoud

2017-05-16 10:02:00 John Massoud

Well said Steven. Your best piece yet.

2017-05-15 10:46:00 John Massoud

Not sure he can win a primary

2017-05-12 19:57:00 John Massoud

6-8 years ago, that would be a reasonable hope. Problem now is that most if not all Democrats have taken a large lurch to the left – to the point where there are few if any centrist or conservative or libertarian Democrats now. All are either hyper partisan liberals or super hyper partisan liberals.

2017-05-12 12:14:00 John Massoud

Barbara Comstock will outwork any person alive. Problem is she’s offended quite a few people in Fairfax, Loudoun, and Frederick Counties. If she can get these people back on her side, she wins. If not……

2017-05-12 09:35:00 John Massoud

Wexton will be Comstock’s biggest challenge.

2017-05-11 16:38:00 John Massoud

Comey had to go, but McCabe should have been ousted along with him.

2017-05-08 14:12:00 John Massoud

The AHCA is not and was not a perfect bill. Sadly we have alot of RINO’s who want Obama Care to stay in effect. This was maybe the best that could be done. But Krauthammer is right, if we’re not careful, in 7 years Single payer will be the law of the land.

2017-05-08 14:10:00 John Massoud

Well done!

2017-05-08 11:00:00 John Massoud

However anyone feels about this bill, one thing we can all agree on is this. All the attempts to repeal Obama Care over the years were proven to be a joke

Glad to see we have a new troll here, aka SD

1/2 of my family is Muslim – from Afghanistan. If you think that saying the word Sharia is racist, then you really need to get out of the house more. Note I didn’t say ALL MUSLIMS – I said “aka Muslims who practice Sharia”.

Helps to get your story and facts straight before hurling out the racism charges.

2017-05-05 10:21:00 John Massoud

Don’t laugh, Pereillo can win in November. He’ll get the millenials who are little better than educated idiots to support him, and get just enough support from NOVA to possibly put him over.

At the very least, this will be a close race for the Dems in June. Can’t say who will win.

2017-05-05 09:51:00 John Massoud

Good luck taking out that communist Connolly. You’re going to need it

2017-05-04 01:15:00 John Massoud

Interesting. Not sure if it will turn the tide for Bryce however

Has anyone determined if the email scandal has stuck to either candidate yet

2017-04-29 20:33:00 John Massoud

How does one comment on so bizarre a story.

2017-04-29 20:07:00 John Massoud

The right thing would have been a straight up repeal of Obama Care, but Ryan and the RINO’s punked out.

2017-04-25 11:29:00 John Massoud

Good luck with that. They may get fighting mad – but with you – not with who you want them to get mad at.

2017-04-25 09:57:00 John Massoud

Does anyone get how scary this is?

2017-04-24 16:35:00 John Massoud

The fact is that you’re not going to get any great shakes out of anyone in France. Best we ever got was Sarkozy, and the moment he suggested increased overtime pay for anyone working over 30 hours a week, he was tossed out of office on his posterior.

Le Pen and Geert Wilders are pretty much the same when it comes to issues. Why people in the US supported Wilders like he was some patron saint was surreal. But Wilders was the best we could have gotten at the time. Same with Le Pen.

2017-04-24 16:22:00 John Massoud

Do you really think that insulting people who don’t agree with you will turn them to your point of view?

Corey Stewart might want to consider dropping out before he ruins his chance at reelection in 2019

2017-04-22 23:55:00 John Massoud

Riggleman always was a serious contender. He just got in to the race too late. But Riggleman’s ideas and his ability to inspire passion in people will live on. I for one am looking forward to supporting him at sometime in the near future.

2017-04-20 15:53:00 John Massoud

Riggleman was a fascinating man and it is too bad that he left the race. (I say this as a Gillespie supporter) Riggleman brought in a fascinating air of freshness and his candor, charm, and wit will be sorely missed. If more politicians were like Denver Riggleman, we’d have more people interested in our political system.

We can only hope that Mr. Riggleman will remain engaged and will one day run for something – having learned some valuable lessons about campaigning, and come back with lessons learned and continue the #WhiskeyRebellion.

2017-04-20 15:18:00 John Massoud

Given the current anger in the Democratic base towards any type of coronation, Ms. McAuliffe would have a very difficult road to travel to get the nomination. Ms. Wexton has to be seen as the odds on favorite to be the Democratic nominee. But if there are alot of challengers, one never knows……..

2017-04-20 09:28:00 John Massoud

Wonder what this holds for November

2017-04-19 01:48:00 John Massoud

Pereillo also. The amount of money he raised is scary.

2017-04-18 12:48:00 John Massoud

Now that I look at this in some depth, Jeanine you need to update this to show Pereillo. He’s raised in excess of 2 million dollars. Now $500,000 of this comes from one donor mind you – but still he’s got the funds and the energy set to win in June.

2017-04-18 12:47:00 John Massoud

WOW – John Adams has basically outraised his incumbent opponent!

2017-04-18 11:25:00 John Massoud

Yes

2017-04-18 02:53:00 John Massoud

Well said

2017-04-17 21:16:00 John Massoud

Given the fact that Mr. Wagner voted to kill a bill which would have allowed gor the purchase of health insurance across state lines because he is bought by the insurance company lobby, I’ll agree to disagree with your premise.

2017-04-14 22:02:00 John Massoud

Not enough time to write about every endorsement. Let’s be honest here. I’m sure the Davis supporters are upset that TBE hasn’t written about every major endorsement received.

Not to disparage anyone here, but likely the reason Goodlatte endorsed Vogel is because Jill Holtzman Vogel has her roots in the 6th Congressional District. Where the Holtzman family looms large.

Not to trash anyone. But that’s a large part of the endorsement of Vogel.

2017-04-13 07:44:00 John Massoud

I support the Stars and Bars as a symbol of our heritage. I also support Ed Gillespie because he’s running on issues which matter to every day Virginians. Including being able to feed your family, or start a business. Marketing our coal. Respecting our ports. The list goes on and on.

2017-04-12 11:15:00 John Massoud

Wouldn’t put too much faith in Quinnipiac polls. Didn’t they have Hilary Clinton winning by 12% in Va, and by 7-10 nationwide in 2016? Best polling in Va comes from local polling. Not even sure that most Virginians know who Tom Pereillo is. Probably alot of Democrats don’t know who Pereillo is, other than he may have been endorsed by The Bern.

2017-04-12 09:54:00 John Massoud

Great question. But you should ask our Fearless Leader Jeanine Martin and or Mr. Steve Albertson. I’m as far to the right of the ideological divide as one can be, and TBE occasionally publishes my articles. So I don’t think it’s ideology here. But again as I don’t speak for TBE – Jeanine/Steve/et al can answer much better than moi

2017-04-11 10:37:00 John Massoud

Jeanine is allowing for the freedom of speech. Just because something is printed on TBE, does not mean that Jeanine or Steve Albertson, or any of the rest of TBE endorse it. But Jeanine does endorse free speech.

Jim – I agree with you 100% that the writer is dead wrong. We can’t afford 1 trillion in government spending. The Obama regime wasted too much money yearly on frivolous spending – everything from Obama Care to who knows what. But just because something is printed – that does not mean that the owner of the site agrees with what is being printed. Just that he/she is letting others express their right to use the 1st Amendment.

2017-04-11 09:59:00 John Massoud

Let’s try it this way. Corey Stewart shills who have lived on social media are being very quiet, after trying to silence Gillespie supporters such as myself. So if you or anyone else has a problem with my asking why they are so quiet – not sure what to tell you.

2017-04-10 09:58:00 John Massoud

They who sow the wind shall reap the whirlwind

2017-04-09 21:26:00 John Massoud

Given the fact that several Corey Stewart supporters have called anyone who supports Gillespie on here “shill”. And they were being quite mouthy and in your face about their man…

2017-04-09 19:20:00 John Massoud

Where are all the Corey Stewart shills?

2017-04-09 12:56:00 John Massoud

Trump’s low approval numbers are a bit of an issue, but not the determining factor. Northam seems to be little more than a big fat ZERO. And as for Pereillo, he’s too unknown and too far to the left.

If Gillespie keeps running the campaign that he’s running, he stands a better than 50% chance to win in November.

2017-04-05 13:06:00 John Massoud

Never knew that about Secretariat. Good stuff

2017-04-03 14:13:00 John Massoud

Sad about Chuck Smith. Seemed like a good guy. However it was quite obvious that he was having issues putting a campaign staff together. Chuck had a great stump speech and a heck of a personal story to tell. But he seemed uninterested in the mechanics of a statewide campaign. And the fact that Chuck never seemed interested in getting ballot petitions signed until it was too late was his ultimate downfall. Well that and the fact he would not make fundraising calls.

2017-04-03 11:11:00 John Massoud

The whole thing should have been a two to three day affair. However it’s become the defining moment of the Stewart campaign.

2017-04-02 22:28:00 John Massoud

I’d agree. However having the Stewart campaign’s communication director saying cuck repeatedly on Friday didn’t make the team look smart.

2017-04-02 22:26:00 John Massoud

Riggleman was and remains a fascinating guy. He could have given Team Gillespie a real challenge had he remained in the race.

The race for the nomination is not over by a long shot. But if Corey Stewart does not explain why he should be Governor soon, it will soon be over.

Hurling dufus like slurs does not make one qualified to be Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

2017-04-02 11:29:00 John Massoud

I’ve been door to door campaigning for team Gillespie in Shenandoah County, which should be great territory for Corey Stewart. He’s got little to no support here. Snd uf he can’t win here, can Stewart win any where?

2017-04-01 21:52:00 John Massoud

Ed Gillespie gets 80+%. Corey Stewart gets 9%. Wagner 6%.

Reeves seems to be moving up however

2017-04-01 21:19:00 John Massoud

Sad how people who support Trump can get attacked. Strasburg had our Christmas parade in early December, and I was handing out Ed Gillespie for Governor candy to kids while carrying a Trump banner – and some parents who voted for Madame Hilary just went nutso on us.

Had great fun with one of them. She refused to let any of her kids “have any of that Trump candy” so I asked her if she was the type of person who gave out potatoes on Halloween. That didn’t go over very well.

2017-03-29 17:22:00 John Massoud

Mindblowing that Wagner’s numbers are that high, unless the poll was heavily weighted towards Va Beach. Stewart’s numbers sound about right, given that Corey had a horrible week. The more interesting number is Northam vs. Periello is a virtual tie.

2017-03-29 17:09:00 John Massoud

Flannery. What a bigot

2017-03-28 19:45:00 John Massoud

Then lily we can thank you uf Northam or Pereillo wins this November

2017-03-28 09:05:00 John Massoud

You asked a question and I answered your question, based upon my knowledge of the facts of the case, based upon discussions I had with SCC members. Now you choose to disparage what I have stated. Which is your right. However I will not listen to anyone tell me what I should and should not do. And don’t come to me asking for me to explain a situation of which I was intimately familiar and then state I am coming across as misleading.

2017-03-24 15:44:00 John Massoud

Rocinante- to make a very long story very short – Jay Marts, and about 9 others (Myself included) supported Delegate Mark Berg. (I live in Shenandoah County FYI) Mark Berg for a long list of reasons, lost his primary to Chris Collins.

Jay Marts and several others continued (WITHOUT THE SUPPORT OF MARK BERG MIND YOU) a write in campaign for then Delegate Berg in the general election of 2015. The 10th District Congressional Committee expelled Marts, and several others (INCLUDING MARK BERG) for violating Party rules regarding supporting non Republican candidates in the general election. Again remember that Berg did not support the write in campaign.

Marts, Berg, et al appealed the decision to SCC – SCC ruled in their favor – and then the Berg faction of the GOP won the Frederick County GOP convention, making Mark Berg chair of the County GOP.

Then elements of the 10th Congressional Committee appealed the decision to RPV, and RPV supported the 10th Congressional District’s original ruling – something which seldom happens, as usually when SCC makes a ruling, it’s final.

I’ll grant you that Jay Marts and a few others did violate the party rule. (remember Jay is a personal friend of mine and we go to church together) But once SCC ruled, the 10th Congressional District should have left it alone, and certainly should not have disbanded the duly elected leadership of the Frederick County GOP. If the SCC had ruled in favor of the 10th District, then I would have counseled Marts et al to let it go as well.

That severely hurt GOTV operations – and really embarrassed the local Party for years to come. Hope that helps.

This is a very condensed version.

2017-03-24 09:39:00 John Massoud

The whole thing is a really tough issue. But for me, once the SCC reinstated Mark Berg and Marts et al, that should have been the end of it. But NOOOOOOOO – the 10th Congressional District Committee couldn’t leave well enough alone, and stuck their finger in the eyes of pretty much everyone, and got the RPV to declare the Frederick GOP Convention which elected Mark Berg being null and void.

That was ridiculous – like it or not, SCC decided and that should have been the end of discussion. (NOTE – Jay Marts is a personal friend and we attend church together). But even if the SCC had gone the other way against Jay and Berg and everyone else, I would have counseled the group to let it go and accept the SCC ruling.

2017-03-23 14:48:00 John Massoud

State Central adjudicated this issue of n favor of Jay Marts et al. Why the 10th CD kept this in the headlines and put the state party in such a ridiculous position is beyond me.

2017-03-23 09:08:00 John Massoud

Obama Care has to go. No ifs no ands no buts. Obama Care must be sent to the dung heap of history where it belongs.

2017-03-21 10:52:00 John Massoud

I was referring to your idiotic comment that Gillespie will be dropping out next. And if you actually believe that Ed will be dropping out, then you must be high on something.

2017-03-20 15:40:00 John Massoud

Too cool Jeanine, thanks for posting this. Odd to see Keith, the greatest rock guitarist in history, being schooled by his mentor.

2017-03-20 10:46:00 John Massoud

Riggleman and Corey Stewart are different people I agree. But they were going after a similar voting bloc.

2017-03-20 09:27:00 John Massoud

If you actually believe a word you just typed in above, then you really need to stop sniffing glue.

2017-03-20 09:26:00 John Massoud

Riggleman”s real problem was Corey Stewart. They’re both vying for the same voter and one had to give way. That being said, Riggleman was a better nominee than Stewart. But he never had a real chance at the nomination for that reason

2017-03-19 01:40:00 John Massoud

Has to start somewhere. We started the movement in the 6th Congressional District. Time for the movement of the grass roots to expand all across Virginia

2017-03-17 21:11:00 John Massoud

#Ed4Virginia

2017-03-17 20:51:00 John Massoud

Mr. Riggleman will be missed. He’s a decent man.

2017-03-17 07:59:00 John Massoud

You really want some bureaucrat telling you to vote or else you’ll be fined or go to jail? Gotta say, that’s more than a bit scary.

2017-03-16 13:50:00 John Massoud

Scott Sayre and Team Sayre share our values. That’s why Scott took over the committee from the Establishment hacks who ran the party into the ground.

I’m proud to be a small contributor to Team Sayre.

2017-03-15 21:08:00 John Massoud

Libs will come up with a way to say that Trump cheated by not paying more than his fair share. And the 40% of the country who believes their Bovine Scatology will accept it.

2017-03-15 11:16:00 John Massoud

I’ll be perfectly blunt, I’ve never been a fan of hers. Didn’t and wouldn’t support her in 2013 during her Lt. Governor’s race, and even though I didn’t approve of some of what Speaker Howell did during his tenure, I donated to him (small amount) because Mrs. Stimpson rubbed me the wrong way. But we should be rooting for people to turn their lives around. To do otherwise is to be just as hateful as the liberals who we are supposed to be better than.

(Guess that makes me a nasty man?)

2017-03-15 09:23:00 John Massoud

I would agree. Now if you called him a such and such, that would be nasty. Offering an honest assessment which includes praise (his words not mine) can not be nasty by definition.

2017-03-15 09:20:00 John Massoud

I wouldn’t call what Jeanine Martin said nasty. It was an assessment. Not sure how that was nasty.

2017-03-15 00:55:00 John Massoud

Good for Susan to turn her life around

2017-03-15 00:53:00 John Massoud

Why is Wagner running, to show that he can out-RINO John Kasich?

2017-03-13 10:28:00 John Massoud

That was a few years ago, back when you needed 15000 signatures to get on the ballot statewide. Now the threshold is 10,000.

2017-03-08 13:36:00 John Massoud

Well said

2017-03-07 21:42:00 John Massoud

Now most of the people in the 6th Congressional District on SCC are outstanding people and are personal friends of mine. People like Scott Sayre, Matt Tederick, Doc Troxel, etc. The party needs more like them.

2017-03-07 16:51:00 John Massoud

You can keep trying that same old line – but at the end of the day, if one of Corey Stewart’s supporters hadn’t flipped, we have a convention.

2017-03-07 16:49:00 John Massoud

It’s one thing for a guy or gal to run for a SCC position saying they support a primary, and then voting for the primary. I got no issue with that. But Benedict Hedlund ran for the SCC saying he would support a convention and then changed his mind – supporting the primary.

ERGO – you can blame Corey Stewart’s large supporter, Benedict Hedlund, for the primary and sticking the taxpayers for the bill.

2017-03-07 10:29:00 John Massoud

Sorry to tell you this, but your real issue is with Benedict Hedlund, who was the deciding vote to have the primary. He had promised to support a caucus over a primary, Oh and by the way, Benedict Hedlund is supporting Corey Stewart. HINT HINT

2017-03-06 16:54:00 John Massoud

Rocinante, listen to this young lady here. She’s making a great argument. Well played Donna W!!! Well done!

2017-03-06 15:56:00 John Massoud

Reeves needs to hope that Rocinante is correct – that the event was for paid shills only. However I don’t see that to be the case.

2017-03-06 12:43:00 John Massoud

The fact of the matter is, that Corey Stewart, being the Chair of the BoS of Prince William County, knows each person at that event better than anyone else running for statewide office (Bryce Reeves being a distant 2nd). Corey should have won that event hands down.

You can try and spin this any way you want, but the fact is that Corey took a minor but significant beating at the event. Will this cost Corey the nomination? Of course not. Corey can still win the nomination. But to try and say this is anything but an embarrassment is sticking your head in the sand ostrich style.

2017-03-06 12:36:00 John Massoud

Thank a Corey Stewart supporter named Ron Hedlund for the primary. Aka Benedict Hedlund.

2017-03-06 05:19:00 John Massoud

Sorry but I’m Prince William there is no bigger insider than Corey Stewart. Not an insult just a fact.

2017-03-05 21:58:00 John Massoud

It’s those who know Corey best voting. If Corey Stewart can’t pack his home turf with voters……

2017-03-05 11:19:00 John Massoud

Wonder how The Wave will try and spin this

2017-03-05 03:45:00 John Massoud

Scott Sayre is a great American. RPV needs more like him.

2017-03-04 19:12:00 John Massoud

They wanna waste their time and get humiliated, it’s a free country

2017-03-04 18:11:00 John Massoud

After the primaries we have (or should have) a joint campaign. Then you’re working for the good of the entire team. 2013 being the obvious exception.

2017-03-03 13:13:00 John Massoud

Assuming that The Wave and Benedict Hedlund had advance knowledge of who sent the emails (again we are just speculating here) this can not be good news for Corey Stewart. Which is why activists should work on JUST ONE CAMPAIGN AT A TIME! Again if the allegations are true, The Wave and Benedict Hedlund will only have hurt their gubanatorial candidate, and their Lt. Governor candidate as well.

It’s hard enough to get things for one campaign right, much less 2.

2017-03-03 11:40:00 John Massoud

SD – I’m not a white guy and Rocinante and I debate often on here. He’s no racist. He’s a sharp wit and he debates his points furiously and with great enthusiasm. We often spar here, but for you to call him a racist is not only insulting to him, it’s actually insulting to pretty much every one who has ever really experienced racism.. You need help and prayer, but people like you are so pathetic it gets harder for me to care.

2017-03-02 15:59:00 John Massoud

Trump’s speech was one of the 10 great speeches in American Political history. Not all speeches (aka MLK I have a dream) but political speeches.

2017-03-02 15:56:00 John Massoud

It’s rough now for the GOP when you have 1 part of the party (the Establishment John McCain wing) who sees us the Tea party as more the enemy than they do the Democrats. Until we fix that problem………

2017-03-02 15:54:00 John Massoud

The writer is onto a few things here. (FYI – for disclosure reasons – I’m a regional field director for the Gillespie campaign). Corey Stewart is not Crazy – he is a perfectly qualified individual to run for Governor of our Commonwealth. Ed is not a RINO nor is he Mr. Establishment (sorry Wave).

And yes every County Committee Chair needs to be involved in their community outside of the political realm. We are at our best when we show why the Free Market system is the most efficient way to raise a poor person out of poverty. And when we show that individual compassion from a church or a group like the Kiwanis Club is the best means to feed the poor, not from a bloated bureaucracy.

2017-03-02 15:48:00 John Massoud

The GOP in Virginia has a couple of different problems.

1st is that we don’t have great voter lists at the local and precinct levels. Fortunately great Americans like Scott Sayre, Matt Tederick, Anne Fitzgerald, AL Tucker, and many other Patriots in the 6th Congressional District GOP are trying to alleviate this problem.

2nd and more concerning are the paid trolls who refuse to coalesce around the nominee who was legitimately selected by the voters. These people, and you have them in both the Tea Party and in the Establishment wings, are not as principled as they want everyone to think, but in actuality are little better than hacks who would allow liberals to win just to spite everyone else.

2017-03-01 12:38:00 John Massoud

Seems to me and most of us that Trump is trying to fulfill his campaign promises. Give the man a break sheesh.

2017-02-28 03:05:00 John Massoud

Did I call Rep. Brat the Messiah? I just said that he’s one of the good guys and if you’re on here trashing him for not being conservative enough, then there’s something wrong somewhere and it’s not with Rep. Brat.

2017-02-24 17:07:00 John Massoud

If you have issues with Dave Brat – then I’m not sure what to tell you, other than you’re part of the problem rather than part of the solution.

2017-02-24 10:56:00 John Massoud

He won’t be missed

2017-02-20 09:17:00 John Massoud

Northam is no guarantee to win this nomination. He’s going head on with a rather well spoken man in Perrello who has an outside chance to get the nomination.

2017-02-17 14:35:00 John Massoud

TBE has often published CNP results. Did so several times last year, both with the Governor’s race and race for POTUS.

2017-02-17 14:33:00 John Massoud

Quinnipiac is not the most accurate polling organization in the USA – so I’d take this poll with several pounds of salt. Christopher Newport Polling is a much more reputable organization which knows Va quite well CNP saw that Trump was closing on Hilary in Va and reported it as such, something which most other polling firms missed in 2016.

2017-02-17 13:48:00 John Massoud

TBE is NOT supposed to be the voice of balance and clarity. TBE is for partisan conservatives and libertarians to learn news in the Commonwealth which we’d not get from any other source.

TBE is a much better source of Virginia political information than say – Bearing Drift. When the Bearing Drift calls Dave Brat the most useless Congressman in Va (forgetting Beyer and Gerry Connolly) – how they call themselves a conservative news source is beyond me.

Again I don’t always agree with TBE – but even when I don’t agree, I find the writers have a reasoned thought process behind what they say.

2017-02-15 15:25:00 John Massoud

Rocinante – does this qualify me as being a shill for TBE? Because I read this online newspaper daily and I agree with 90% of what they write, and the 10% where I disagree is at least reasonably thought out – even if I disagree with the writer.

2017-02-15 13:07:00 John Massoud

For the record I don’t think you’re anti or pro anything or anyone. Just reporting facts as they come to you, and we the readers shall decide as we choose to!

2017-02-15 12:54:00 John Massoud

Means you’re doing your job. Keep up the good work Jeanine.

2017-02-15 12:53:00 John Massoud

That is nuts. I’ve personally witnessed Gillespie shake the hands of many working class folks.

2017-02-15 02:29:00 John Massoud

McCain – BLECK. Despise that guy.

Actually I love Corey Stewart. Heck of a great guy. And you’ll notice that I’ve never trashed Corey Stewart (as he’s a friend) and if Corey is the nominee – I’ll be more than happy. Same with Riggleman.

Personally I think Corey Stewart would be a better Senator than a Governor, but that’s just me.

I appreciate your working hard for Corey. At the end of the day,we’re all on the same team. If Gillespie wasn’t running, I’d gladly be on either Team Corey or Team Riggleman. Refuse to be on team Wagner. UGH

I’m actually principled towards conservative values and the concept of liberalism being what will kill this country. With debt at all levels being the main threat.

2017-02-14 17:49:00 John Massoud

OK guess that means I’m a shill for Ed Gillespie – free of course. But I don’t claim to be neutral. I am firmly in Ed’s camp and think he would be the best governor in the next term. But if the nominee is Corey or Riggleman, I’d be more than happy with either of those 2. Wagner is our version of Kasich. BLECK

2017-02-14 16:06:00 John Massoud

I’ve been paying attention to this issue for months. A correction was made and announced in response to a piece of information which was originally left out. Never said Jeanine Martin was perfect, just that she has great integrity.

2017-02-14 14:08:00 John Massoud

Wagner has 0 chance of getting the nomination – unless Ed, Riggleman, and Corey Stewart each pull out of the race.

2017-02-14 11:34:00 John Massoud

I very seldom use the term RINO – but if there was ever the opportunity to use this term – Wagner is a RINO

2017-02-14 11:33:00 John Massoud

Jeanine Martin has great journalistic integrity. One can disagree with her – but the world needs more like Jeanine Martin. Jeanine and I sometimes disagree but she’s one of the most principled ladies I’ve ever met.

(FYI – I am NOT on Jeanine’s payroll)

2017-02-14 11:28:00 John Massoud

At least a free shill does or says what they do honestly. Where a paid shill would say anything for a dollar.

2017-02-14 11:27:00 John Massoud

Try that again in English please

2017-02-13 10:43:00 John Massoud

Having been born and raised in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and considering myself a Virginian first and an American second, I would be once again glad to work for Carly Fiorina.

Having said that, I am not sure who I will support, it will be either Carly or Laura Ingraham. But to be call someone a carpetbagger just because they lived somewhere else before – that’s beyond stupid.

2017-02-13 10:16:00 John Massoud

Some trolls refuse to vote for someone no matter what. Not sure why that is – guess it makes them feel better about their pitiful lives?

2017-02-10 15:41:00 John Massoud

Can we assume that Senator Wagner is running as the John Kasich of this race – saying that we need to be tax and spend liberals just like the tax and spend liberals?

#EdGillespie2017

2017-02-10 15:38:00 John Massoud

Jeanine. Thanks for posting this article. Is anyone in the state taking Wagner seriously given that he’s such a tax and spend liberal?

2017-02-07 14:30:00 John Massoud

Then you must have not supported Ted Cruz because he did some legal work for the Bush 43 team arguing a point regarding immigration laws which made amnesty look good.

And if you supported Trump, you must then be Democrat because none of the other 16 GOP candidates gave more to Democrats than did Trump.

For the record, I voted for Trump, and donated to his cause as well. So don’t call me a RINO or some establishment hack. But if you expect every person to have clean hands 100% of the time, you’re nuts.

#EdGillespie2017

2017-02-06 12:11:00 John Massoud

I must have missed something – this series doesn’t seem funny. Maybe it’s my advanced age?

2017-02-06 12:08:00 John Massoud

Let me say this as a supporter of Ed Gillespie. I’m not sure what the purpose of this series is. Corey Stewart has raised money as has Ed Gillespie and as has Wagner and so will Riggleman.

Would the writer prefer the government telling us who can and cannot not run?

Companies have the right to donate. Many have donated to Ed, many to Corey, Wagner and soon to Riggleman. Don’t insult the money or the donors. They’re what keeps us from being wards of the state.

2017-02-03 23:26:00 John Massoud

If this is the best that the anti Ed Gillespie trolls can do, take on Trump’s choice for Education Secretary, then Ed Gillespie is in great shape.

2017-02-02 08:11:00 John Massoud

Well written. #EdGillespie2017

2017-01-27 01:14:00 John Massoud

Guess the fashion industry fools who didn’t want to dress Melania Trump are feeling pretty stupid right about now huh.

2017-01-22 04:46:00 John Massoud

While I am supporting Ed Gillespie, this is a great article and shows that we are on the right track. Well said.

2017-01-22 04:40:00 John Massoud

Sounds about right. Unfortunately for the 8th, no one in Congress pays much attention to Beyer, so they’re kinda screwed. Something they seem to be content with.

2017-01-18 13:26:00 John Massoud

His constituents are as nutty as he is. They’re all probably calling Beyer a hero.

2017-01-18 11:50:00 John Massoud

Actually Ed nearly won a race no one (INCLUDING YOU) thought he or anyone could win. #EdGillespie2017

2017-01-17 11:16:00 John Massoud

Wow – sounds like someone is a wee bit bitter today. And to the ridiculous comment that supply side economics never worked, one should look back to the Reagan economy. To the JFK economy, to the Thomas Jefferson economy. Fact is that tax cuts work whenever they are enacted. Nice try though.

2017-01-17 11:10:00 John Massoud

Got a new thesaurus I see?

2017-01-12 17:30:00 John Massoud

2016-12-10 21:57:00 John Massoud

Martha is an independent thinker who would never endorse anyone without serious consideration. Attacking Martha is just wrong

2016-12-10 05:17:00 John Massoud

Roc – just FYI – Ed was just endorsed by Senator Dick Black. Thought you should know.

2016-12-07 15:06:00 John Massoud

100% absolutely. And I’ll show you how serious I am about this. I ran Carly Fiorina’s campaign in the 6th Congressional District. When Trump became the nominee – I donated big time “in kind” – to ensure that the Trump campaign would have the firepower to beat Hilary.

So don’t worry about us Ed supporters. In the unlikely event Gillespie loses – I’ll be the biggest backer of who ever wins the nomination.

Fair enough?

2016-12-07 14:42:00 John Massoud

Remember that Ed wrote the Contract with America – and most of that was enacted. What else do you need?

2016-12-07 13:17:00 John Massoud

Not the issue. The issue was the person above said or implied that Gillespie was a liberal compared to Trump. And I say that Trump is a liberal compared to Ed

2016-12-06 19:55:00 John Massoud

Sorry but Ed is more conservative than Trump when it comes to issues like taxes and life and marriage. Nice try though

2016-12-06 19:06:00 John Massoud

Any man who was in good standing with Dick Armey, who wrote the Contract with America, and who gave us the first real “Repeal and Replace” legislation for Obama Care is not a “moderate Republican”. Ed is the real deal who will get things done as our governor. Now if you want someone who froths at the mouth, Ed is not that guy. Ed is always polite and genteel, but being polite does not mean that Ed lacks backbone or has no principles. Ed is the most principled candidate out there.

2016-12-06 15:24:00 John Massoud

Greg – calling Ed an imposter is slanderous. Ed was the author of the Contract with America and wrote the first real bill to repeal Obama Care. Ed also understood that part of repealing Obama Care was serious Medicaid reform. Ed’s repeal and replace bill also included serious Medicaid reform. Ed is a warrior when it comes to conservative principles and Tea party principles.

2016-12-06 14:21:00 John Massoud

Big news – glad to see that Rick Buchanan is doing the right thing and supporting a true conservative in Ed Gillespie. Ed has been fighting the fight since the early 1990’s. And will continue the fight for limited government in Virginia.

2016-12-06 13:48:00 John Massoud

Thank the traitors who broke the deal and gave us an open primary instead of the convention. Aka Ron Hedlund. And a few others as well.

2016-10-21 13:33:00 John Massoud

Odd how Al Gore – 16 years later, has not accepted the fact that he lost Florida. Yet that does not bother you.

2016-10-21 13:27:00 John Massoud

Easily the worst performance in a VP debate. Ever. Much worse than Quayle. Quayle had that one bad minute. Kaine had ninety bad minutes.

2016-10-05 18:29:00 John Massoud

Not sure what debate you were watching. Pence deserves an A. Kaine an F.

2016-10-05 17:57:00 John Massoud

Trump needs to give this speech every day from today going through November 8. He does that and he wins by 20%. Amazing speech, Jeanine – thanks for posting this.

2016-08-17 15:49:00 John Massoud

Aren’t they just disgusting at times

2016-08-10 20:04:00 John Massoud

Example at a local GOP committee meeting. We do 2 resolutions. One is voted on unanimously. Other approved with one dissenting vote. The establishment people just went nuts and started screaming at my friend for voting against the resolution. And then started screaming and yelling at me for sitting next to her. And I voted for their resolution. They’re acting like infants. And getting worse.

2016-08-10 19:40:00 John Massoud

Regarding the need for civility, can’t agree with you more. But the GOP ruling cabal really should be ashamed of themselves. I can’t overemphasize how rude so many of them have been rude to me personally and then will call me nasty. I’m talking about slurs and such. So yes we can do better. But at least we try to be civil. Same can not be said for the ruling class.

2016-08-10 19:37:00 John Massoud

The writer makes a bit of sense – but is missing one fundamental point. The fact is that the party is fracturing apart not because of conservatives, but because of the Lindsay Graham, John McCain crowd. All Americans are pissed off and with good reason. They feel their elected leaders won’t listen to them anymore and want someone to listen to them. Which is why Trump resonates so well when he says “I AM YOUR VOICE”.

I voted for Cruz in the primary, but will be the 1st person to admit that Cruz is not a team player and sometimes you need to punt. But it’s hard to work with a group like McCain/Boehner/Graham when they insult you the moment you disagree with them (John Boehner calling Cruz Satan, McCain calling Rand Paul and Cruz “wacko birds”, etc etc).

I’ll grant you that calling anyone who disagrees with others on an issue or two a RINO or “Establishment” isn’t productive and is starting to get old. But the problem is not us, the problem is the more supposedly “moderate” crowd who are really more hateful than us Tea Party supporters could ever hope to be.

2016-08-10 16:58:00 John Massoud

He’ll have 0 choice but to do the wall. And Obama Care is dying a horrible painful death. The next President, be it Hilary, Gary Johnson, or Trump, will have to deal with that fact.

2016-07-12 16:45:00 John Massoud

Obama Care is all but dead. The next President will have to deal with that 1st off. Even though Trump has in the past said he supports a single payer system, that will not happen with Ted Cruz and Mike Lee in the US Senate. Assuming Trump wins in November (no sure thing), a massive deal will be made, and we won’t like parts of this deal. But Obama Care will be dead.

I tend to trust him on the judges – not sure why though.

He will have little choice but to build the wall with Mexico. If Trump renegs on this, Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham will make his life a living hell.

What concerns us Tea party supporters is everything else. My thoughts is the US Government’s job is to patrol the borders, have a strong military, and not much else. Not sure Trump will abide by any of that. Other than the wall.

2016-07-12 16:02:00 John Massoud

I’m no Trump fan, but Trump is the nominee, and he does have the potential to change the change the electorate. It’s interesting though, how so many hated Romney because he wasn’t “ideologically pure”, yet they’re more than fine with Trump who supported a single payer health care system.

I am voting for Trump, but we must teach everyone that Government is the problem, and not the solution to the problem. Trump needs to do these things:

1) Nominate conservative judges to all levels of the federal court system
2) Build the wall with Mexico
3) Kill off the EPA
4) Kill off Obama Care – and replace it with a more market based system. This will be tough as Democrats in the Senate will demand alot, and here we may have to yield a bit on things.

If Trump can do all these things, he will go down in history as a great President.

2016-07-12 13:21:00 John Massoud

RIP Bonus Mom

2016-06-16 01:36:00 John Massoud

Strasburg had about 165 voters when the polls closed. Way off from 4 years ago.

2016-06-14 23:06:00 John Massoud

Meant to say something is up. The natives are restless and we are sick of having our elected officials lie to us. It was a great result. One which needs to be another wake up call.

2016-05-22 18:33:00 John Massoud

Unfortunately you forgot to discuss what occurred in the 6th District. The former 6th Congressional District Chair, Wendall Walker was running for Presidential elector, national delegate, and State Central. Walker lost all 3 races. Conservative candidates Anne Fitzgerald won for elector. The conservative ticket of Doc Troxel, Joe Sonsmith, and Nate Boyer won State Central, and most of Goodlatte’s ticket for national delegate lost. Cruz supporters like Suzanne Curran won the national convention delegate seats.

Something is amiss in the 6th. Bull Elephant might want to watch the events unfold here in the weeks to come.

2016-05-22 16:01:00 John Massoud

And with McAuliffe reigning over a period of 0 growth, how can anyone like him in Va?

2016-05-16 18:00:00 John Massoud

This whole tawdry affair has been a national disgrace. The Obama DoJ should be ashamed of themselves. This was a political witch hunt from start to finish.

2016-04-28 10:30:00 John Massoud

Shenandoah County has the best delegate in Todd Gilbert!

2016-02-04 16:52:00 John Massoud

Without a doubt the removal of Mark Berg from the GOP was one of the stupidest things 10th District could have done. Instead of spending this time gathering our resources to fight Hilary Clinton in 2016 10th district decided to use its resources to fight the conservative grass roots. Not at all smart.

2015-11-27 19:41:00 John Massoud

Well said Jay. You’re fighting the good fight in Frederick. Problem is 100% party leadership. And they do abandon their base each chance they get. There is no better evidence than McConnell allowing for the funding of Planned Parenthood in DC. If we can’t get on board with an issue where 80% of the US agrees with us……..

2015-08-31 10:43:00 John Massoud

If Romney was President, Obama Care would have been defunded, Romney would have put real pressure on Russia to back off Ukraine, and we’d be taking care of business regarding ISIS instead of taking half baked measures. So while I don’t agree with Mitt on some issues, we’d be in alot better shape if he was president.

2015-08-11 12:58:00 John Massoud

If these people are so very upset with the current political process, then they should be going for someone like Cruz, who we all know has guts, or Ben Carson or Carly Fiorina, all of whom are truly outsiders and true conservatives who can think rationally and tell it like it is without insulting everyone who has a disagreement with them. Also each of those 3 is capable of completing a sentence without having the words I or ME in them, unlike Mr. Trump.

2015-08-11 12:01:00 John Massoud

Well said Steve! You’re a credit to the Tea party and to all us conservative activists.

2015-06-10 11:29:00 John Massoud

He really needs to be expelled from the House and the sooner the better.

2015-02-10 11:42:00 John Massoud

So their sons think she should walk and the daughters think he should walk. What a mess.

2015-02-07 18:25:00 John Massoud

What is most odd is how their daughters sold out their mom to protect their dad. What does that say about her?

2015-02-07 03:21:00 John Massoud

Jeanine, you’re dead on here. Palin is not a serious contender and is little more than an attention grabber. The latest was her holding a F U Michael Moore sign. While I despise Michael Moore as much as anyone else, no person who really wants to be President can act like she does and then say with a straight face they’re ready to lead the free world.

She’s a buffoon, and the sooner we on the right learn this and get serious, the sooner we’ll start winning elections again.

I’m gonna be supporting either Scott Walker or Mike Pence for President. Who’s with me?

2015-01-26 14:41:00 John Massoud

Well said – LaCivita is a joke and should be banned from running campaigns. Why anyone would hire him is beyond me.

2015-01-23 14:11:00 John Massoud

No. I’m stating that your above comment about gas being $4.00 in 2008 was because of Democratic stall tactics for years. Once GW could get allow for some drilling in ANWR, the price of gas went down immediately.

Once Obama closed off ANWR exploration, then the price of gas went back up (remember that gasoline is traded on the open market same as stocks are). Once we started fracking, the price of gas has plummeted.

That was what I was stating. How you got that I said the Bush 43 administration was a success out of that, is beyond me.

2015-01-12 12:38:00 John Massoud

Actually if you remember correctly, the price of gasoline went down immediately after GW issued an executive order which allowed for the exploration of oil in ANWR. Nice try though.

2015-01-12 12:31:00 John Massoud

Reinhardt – when GW left office, gas was $1.75 nationwide, and 1.49 at the Sheetz in Winchester. Just FYI.

2015-01-12 12:16:00 John Massoud

Mike Pence for President!!!!!!

2015-01-12 12:15:00 John Massoud

Run Stephen run!!!!!!!!!!!

2014-12-16 14:10:00 John Massoud

Senator Whipple has been out of the legislature for years. Why is she still listed?

2014-12-11 11:12:00 John Massoud

1st off, I’m no fan of Susan Stimpson. But with that being said – how stupid is Ray Allen? Oh yes, he’s the guy who swore up and down that Cantor would win by 30%, while anyone in the know in the 7th District could see that people were fed up with business as usual.

And didn’t we go through an election phase where we insisted that GOP candidates AND THEIR IMMEDIATE STAFF NOT SAY ANYTHING STUPID?

Talking about beating a woman like a rented mule? How pitiful can one be?

2014-11-14 15:20:00 John Massoud

I’d think we’re a bit more fired up to vote than you guys are.

2014-10-27 13:47:00 John Massoud

Republicans in Shenandoah County and Frederick County are geared up and ready to go. We’ve been knocking on doors here for over a month, and handing out voter information guides and it’s amazing to see how enthused the people of the Northern Shenandoah Valley are when it comes to voting for Ed Gillespie.

2014-10-27 11:32:00 John Massoud

Jeanine, I share and feel your pain. Each time I try and visit my father’s house in Lucketts is a reminder of just what happens when taxes are raised to build new roads. Rt 15 is worse than ever, with no end in sight, and the money gets wasted and no one knows where it goes. Pitiful. Just glad that Joe May and Bev Sherwood were tossed from office.

2014-08-26 11:41:00 John Massoud

Well said Steve. Rand Paul is not my 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice for the GOP nomination (I’m leaning towards Ted Cruz) but Rand Paul would be acceptable for me. But sooner or later his dad will say something stupid – and the son will either have to trash his father or keep his own mouth shut – either will hurt him in 2016.

2014-07-25 11:18:00 John Massoud

Reagan – they can boot him with a 2/3 majority. Speaker Howell really needs to put the stem on the apple so to speak, and get rid of this fool. He’d probably get 75 votes to boot him. Maybe 80.

2014-07-02 10:52:00 John Massoud

While I’m a big believer of “presumed innocent” – there are alot of disturbing facts here as well as a long history of this Morrissey guy acting in a rather bizarre manner. The House of Delegates needs to put the stem on the apple and boot Morrissey and now.

2014-07-02 10:47:00 John Massoud

Wow I did not think that Saslaw was capable of straying off the liberal plantation.

Sounds to me like someone knows they’re losing.

I’d promised myself to never post on anything written by the Whiner in Chief aka Matt Colt Hall. However since he insists on being a martyr, may we remind him of the following names?

John McCain, John Kasich

See, Matt gets his way, but likes to whine – and no it’s not them leaving you Matt, it’s you becoming a RINO and then trashing anyone who disagrees with you.

2017-10-30 18:38:00 John Massoud

I vaguely remember that PP fiasco. For me it was the biggest nothing in the world. How everyone got upset over her PP statements was beyond me. Not sure why you have issues with Laura Ingraham – but that’s your choice.

2017-06-12 14:49:00 John Massoud

What’s wrong with Carly Fiorina??????

2017-06-12 10:32:00 John Massoud

Uh. I’m not gay. So that ain’t gonna happen.

2017-06-08 19:09:00 John Massoud

Bryce Reeves is not a bigot sorry. If you don’t want to vote for Bryce that’s your choice, but let’s be honest here. I’m not a white guy, and Reeves has always been cordial and respectful to me.

2017-06-08 17:42:00 John Massoud

Then per your request I shall stop reading the Bearing Drift.

2016-05-06 18:40:00 John Massoud

Mr. Hall once said here that the problem with the GOP is that conservatives need to be expelled. Now he wants Trump out. I didn’t vote for Trump in the primaries, but do you think that we build the party by kicking Trump and his supporters out?

One must wonder why this narrow minded man child still writes for you.

2016-05-06 18:16:00 John Massoud

Says the man wearing pink pants at the convention

2016-05-01 06:46:00 John Massoud

So Bolling helps torpedo Cuccinelli’s race for Governor, and it’s Cuccinelli’s fault about the 2 wings of the party not getting along is pretty much what you’re saying?

2016-01-26 15:48:00 John Massoud

Sorry Brian, but the issue here is all about who said these words. If this was anyone else aka Tom Davis or EW Jackson both of whom are on the far ends of the ideological spectrum, that would be another thing. But this is coming from a man (Bolling) who went out of his way to torpedo his rival because he didn’t get a nomination he felt entitled to.

Congressman Davis and I are very good friends (I used to work for him for the record), even though he and I are on the opposite ends of the Republican spectrum when it comes to policy. And I take Mr. Davis at his word as a legitimate broker. But not Bolling.

2016-01-26 15:47:00 John Massoud

Larry Sabato. Wasn’t he the same guy who said in Sept. 2004 “John Kerry will be the next President”? Gee how did that happen?

2016-01-26 15:11:00 John Massoud

Shaun – I would agree with you 100%. Bolling is under no legal or moral obligation to endorse someone. No one is arguing that point. But it’s beyond hypocritical for Bolling to refuse to endorse an opponent that Bolling refused to take on in a nomination contest, then go out and criticize our wing of the party, and then come back and say that we need to heal as a party. if Bolling wants us to heal, the 1st thing he should do is apologize to Cuccinelli for helping give McAwful the governor’s race.

2016-01-26 15:09:00 John Massoud

Sorry but when the Lt. Governor refuses to endorse the nominee of his party because Bolling thought something was “owed to him”, he’s the most public and major part of the problem.

2016-01-26 14:51:00 John Massoud

Lt. Governor Bolling and his snit when he didn’t get the nomination shows that he us part of the problem. You can’t call for harmony when you’re the major reason for the division.

2016-01-26 05:24:00 John Massoud

You Mr. Matt Colt Hall who says the problem with the GOP is the fact we have conservatives in the party. Try getting rid of us, and see how many elections the GOP will win. You don’t build a party by tossing people. Something you need to get through your skull.

2015-12-02 17:31:00 John Massoud

This question must be asked. How has Brat been a total failure?

2015-12-02 17:30:00 John Massoud

Some people just enjoy complaining for the sake of complaining – and to feel better about their pitiful lives. Not taking up for Whitbeck here. But seems all that Susan Stimpson can do is whine and label others

2015-11-23 11:31:00 John Massoud

Note to the writer. Brat was never in the Virginia General Assembly. Check your facts 1st.

2015-10-26 23:45:00 John Massoud

Shak has this rather unique ability to offend people. Shak has issues when it comes to dealing with others who disagree with him.

2015-10-04 14:59:00 John Massoud

Well said

2015-10-04 14:57:00 John Massoud

Gillespie won the convention by a 65 to 35 margin. Not really sure that’s a near loss. Hill lost because he lacked organization. Not because of Paul Ryan.

2015-10-03 23:04:00 John Massoud

Problem my dear Diane. This is part for the course for media. Has been for hundreds of years. These people lie like we blink our eyes.
