Cost of gasoline vs. costs of paying for thousands a year who end up in the hospital as a result of the air. I’ll take go with the option that doesn’t put people in the hospital. |

The republican run legislative bodies in Utah constantly vote against clean air policies while the few democrats have rallied behind the issues. Our mentality is to clean up the air so your kids have it as good or better as you did. |

| funny, i've seen many of snowbird's patrollers training with it numerous times throughout the course of the season with a rather portable looking handheld transceiver. i'm not advocating for recco, it has saved lives though. | 2012-05-23T08:45:02-06:00 | nate | https://unofficialnetworks.com/2012/05/24/dangerous-piece-avalanche-safety-gear-world-snowbe/comment-page-1/#comment-36050 |
| i don't think these were designed for backcountry use at all, or at least i hope not. | 2012-05-23T00:27:29-06:00 | nate | https://unofficialnetworks.com/2012/05/24/dangerous-piece-avalanche-safety-gear-world-snowbe/comment-page-1/#comment-36034 |
| the only problem i see with this is, as some people have mentioned, that the people using it most likely aren't aware enough to turn it off in case of a burial/beacon search situation if they are in range. for people making trips to areas where inbounds slide are a possibility (most western resorts...), it's a great idea as many people do wear beacons frequently, are practiced at using them and could likely save some tourists life if they were wearing one. it seems similar in concept to these: http://www.backcountry.com/pieps-freeride-avalanche-beacon, I believe pieps may have even made something without a search mode at some point as well but I may be mistaken. | 2012-05-23T00:26:04-06:00 | nate | https://unofficialnetworks.com/2012/05/24/dangerous-piece-avalanche-safety-gear-world-snowbe/comment-page-1/#comment-36033 |

| still completely unjustified, langley was 14 seconds ahead of the french cunt who crashed mid run. they should have had her remove them after complaint and allowed her to ski in the final, considering the strap had absolutely zero impact on results. | 2012-01-30T12:05:12-06:00 | nate | https://unofficialnetworks.com/2012/01/30/langley-mcneal-disqualified-sarah-burke-armband-dqed-due-leg-straps/comment-page-1/#comment-19119 |

| please do not push the mistakes that were made that day under the table. warning signs were ignored and mistakes were made. this does not change the tragic events, what happened is terrible and no one deserves that, but if talking about the mistakes can save someone in the future, then that is worth it. hopefully some good can come out of this, i really wish the best for jamie's friends and family and mean no disrespect to anyone in what i am saying. let's learn from their mistakes and continue honoring jamie in the best ways we can. | 2011-11-17T12:55:53-06:00 | nate | https://unofficialnetworks.com/2011/11/17/information-avalanche-jamie-pierre/comment-page-1/#comment-12000 |

Hey Mike, please check out the “Sprocket Rockets” forum over on Teton Gravity Research. There are some troubling use issues being discussed, such as a new trail in Bellingham, WA built with MACHINES (the devil), that could really use your input. Thanks and looking forward to reading your enlightened words on a backwards forum. |

You’re my hero Mike. Screw all those wilderness hating, earth polluting, animal killing, spandex wearing, self righteous sallies. That 6 inch wide singletrack is the devil, and should be “obliterated”. Just dig it right up and make into a nice, buffed out, 6 foot wide hiking path, because that’s what we need even more of. Hell, maybe we could even pave it over. I hear hikers scare wildlife even more than bikers or motorized vehicle users, since they can sneak up so quietly, so maybe we should provide mandatory safety whistles that you have to blow every 5 minutes. Wouldn’t want that cougar in the woods biting your dick off or anything. |
